Poll of the Day

Who's Satoshi Nakamoto? Who invented Bitcoin? These two questions never get old. The people, the media, the government, it seems like like everyone wants to know but noone has a clue. If anything they can do is just speculate. I believe the upcoming HBO documentary, set for release on Tuesday, Oct. 8, will leave us all speculating more on this question.
So, before the documentary why not we make a consensus on —

Who's the real Satoshi Nakamoto, the inventor of Bitcoin?

Nick Szabo10.9%
Adam Back3.6%
Dorian Nakamoto 3.6%
Wei Dai1.8%

The real Satoshi is the friends we made along the way.
reply
@Undisciplined is my friend and he is Satoshi. So is @grayruby. Where's he? I'm kinda missing him. Hasn't he come out of last night's hangover?
reply
He's a retired Gen-X'er. You're not going to see him up early very often.
reply
Semi-retired. I get up when life requires.

I woke up at 8am today and thought that was far too early. False start one could say. I went back to sleep and then when I woke up again around 10 my wife asked me to take the dog for her morning walk.
I do think my laziness costs me in the rankings. I am never around for the early Siggy posts to get that early zap in and the Daily Zap which are usually some of the top posts of the day.
reply
There are no solutions. There are only tradeoffs.
reply
Sometimes it takes a tradeoff to deal with another tradeoff.
Daily Zap
It's not the top post daily. It's, as I can see always comes at the bottom. I don't know why this happens but it's a reality.
reply
Because I am zapping it and I have a low trust rating because I zap and talk to everyone, not just the top 10 stackers.
We are all Satoshi after all.

I think he's @ek

I think he is @k00b because after Bitcoin the most important invention is Stacker News.

I chose Wei Dai because he deserves a single vote.
reply
I believe in Bitcoin and that tells me to respect the individual privacy if he choose to. So, whoever Satoshi is, I don't want someone else should reveal his identity. If he does, I don't have any problem.
reply

Double standard Stackers!!!

Although many stackers have voted for individuals here, it's surprising that all comments suggest that they belive Bitcoin was either created by a group or some other person they know.
reply
In my opinion, it was impossible for satoshi to be just one person.

I don't think it's impossible. I suspect it was one programmer and the same person writing as satoshi even.
I just think bitcoin's design was a group effort to some degree.
reply
Thanks for clarifying. From the day I listened you and @car discussing about it. I kinda started believing it was an organisation. Now, I can be back to my faith that it was an Indian who lost his job in the crisis and returning home he invented Bitcoin.
reply
I think things were already being prepared and they just took advantage of the crisis to make the revelation.
reply
Correct. I believe in making wild speculations for anything that I can't know from my own efforts. Satoshi can be from India if he can be from Russia and North Korea.
reply
It was an exaggeration for me to say impossible. What I meant was that it's unlikely.
reply
Have you watched this week's SNL or it's just your opinion?
I mean, I would like to know why you think so?
reply
I saw it and I know that @k00b has the same opinion. But I've been saying this for years. If I had to tell just one person, I'd say hal.

His true identity will always be a mystery, I guess. No one will believe the real Satoshi if he comes out today or later, unless he has documented everything and can prove it. I think the mystery will keep going for years.
reply
I only wonder how can he sleep knowing that he has become so much wealthier.

We are all Satoshi

I think Sathosi Nakamoto is a group. Sathosi Nakamoto has forever marked the history of humanity.

Thank you all for the curiosity. Here's Satoshi Nakamoto, in my recent article: #711679

I agree with your post. However, I disagree that we should stop speculating. I believe speculation is something that can really adds some pinch of salt.
So, we shouldn't stop speculating but surely our intentions with that should be fun.
reply
The question of who created Bitcoin is something that makes us all very curious. I sincerely believe that it was a group that created one of the largest assets in the world economy and that is why we have all been able to find refuge and a banner of freedom.
reply
At this point we’ll never know
reply
Surely it was a small group but then it’s unlikely if it was a group that they have all remained silent 🤫

Satoshi Nakamoto is Satoshi Nakamoto. He created Bitcoin. He is no longer with us.

wa are all satoshi.

I prefer not knowing and not guessing. Whoever he/she is/was, made a good and wise decision staying anonymous. We can thank him/her for that, and I'm not going spend a single millisecond trying to dox him/her.

Personally, I believe that it was not just one person who was responsible, but several people. Possibly some or all of those named on this list are involved, although some time ago, around 2021, I saw a theoretical video from a Youtuber who is no longer working. And he was talking and showing some evidence that served to speculate on whether or not Elon Musk could be the creator of Bitcoin, considering that he is one of the most important minds of the last era. And there are many things that can be considered as conspiracy theory or simple coincidence, anyway, I don't know if one day we will know who S. Nakamoto is or was. I hope the secret is never revealed. The anonymity of the creator of Bitcoin is something as important or powerful as the fixed amount of 21 Million.
