Wild good or bad? 😎
I’m pretty sure it still has to be on 24/7. But yeah, no channel management (none at all actually). Also has some quirks that I might go over in a post at some time.
Ha! Wild is always good, of course.
Heard Darth talk about some of the privacy benefits, but was mainly looking at easy solutions for my wife.

Yup, it’s definitely easy.

In my opinion Albyhub fixed this.
You can open 2 channels super quick from trusted and recommended sources through simple UI, and call it a day, you'll pretty much never need to rebalance or set fees (depending on what your using your node for). Its pretty simple quick and easy while being a solid sovereign option. I'd give it a look if I were you, times are changing.

My take? The best approach long term is to get a full node. Commercial off-the-shelf.
MyNode, Start9, Umbrel, etc buy one of those and run a full Bitcoin Node and Lightning Node yourself. Once you do you never go back. That way it's on 24/7 and functions like a miniature home server - all your Bitcoin and lightning apps in one place.

That's only if you're using Alby Hub on the cloud, though, is that correct?
