What could happen then though is the SN user might just use a link to something like a Tweet that has a link to the article for domains where that revenue split would occur. I suppose nothing is stopping others from then also posting the original source link.
It's interesting to watch these dynamics when there is competition for the sats earned on SN.
When you create a post there's a option button where you can indicate to which SN user can FW all the sats. If the original creator of the link you post is on SN, is a nice gesture to give them the sats from tips. But is optional, nobody is forcing you to do that.
I use that option if I know that the user is here. I am not here to "make a living" with sats from SN.

It's be nice if it did it automatically though based on the domain or twitter account or something.

If is not with the user consent, that sounds as taxation or something like that :)
