Sadly, this might help her. The anti-crypto left (which includes anti-BTC folks by definition, no matter how much we distinguish between them) aren't jumping ship, and folks who support Trump because he's "the crypto candidate" might get peeled off.

I think it will help her a small bit. Hopefully it'll be too little, too late.

This should shock no one. Ripple people are pretty much just hoping the state adopts XRP for a CBDC.

This right here. I believe Ripple was originally conceived of a being used by banks - so pretty much a CBDC.

This got me thinking and one place that could be interesting to have a CBDC would be with taxes. But instead of the government programming the money, the taxpayer would program what their taxes could be used for and the government would be force to abide by it.
Of course the government would never go for this and I have no idea how such a system would even be implemented without the CBDC being turned back on the citizens. But it is interesting to speculate how government spending would have to flip on its head to actually reflect the wishes of the people.

I've been much more effective when talking to people about the immorality of taxes when discussing how their money is used to do things they believe are immoral. And asking, why couldn't it be different? It could be.
And if no one would fund x... then how is it not just theft. Or why should y be funded? There's a reason why these types of conversations are avoided.

Absolutely! I know so much of what I pay in taxes goes towards things that I absolutely object to. It really grinds my gears. It would be so nice if there was a way to dictate with 100% certainty where I want my taxes spent.
