Episode 4 is up.

MLB

We wrapped up the MLB season. Congrats to @BlokchainB for winning the pick 'em challenge and tip of the hat for turning those winnings into a fun challenge. We also looked ahead to the offseason's big free agent target.

NFL

In NFL news, we of course recapped our fantasy league and updated the survivor pool. Then we talked a little trade deadline news and shared our favorite sports blunders in honor of that Jets' rookie dropping the ball before crossing the goal line.

NBA

In NBA action, we updated the standings of a bet that @grayruby had clearly forgotten about and talked about the season so far: including Wemby's 5x5 and the upcoming poorly named Emirates Cup. Speaking of the Emirates Cup, we talked about this year's survivor pool.

Cricket

There are two cricket pools running at the moment. Actually, there might only be one, since all the participants in the WBBL Survivor Pool were eliminated this week (something tells me we'll all buy back in though). The other contest is a continuous cricket contest, which is a new model @Coinsreporter is trying out.

NHL

In other ~Stacjer_Sports news, we talked about @BlokchainB throwing down the gauntlet with @siggy47 over which of their lousy hockey teams would prevail.

Degeneracy

We closed the episode shouting out Freebitcoin and Predyx for offering bitcoin sports betting, although the options are still rather limited.

Great episode! you sound like you were doing this for your entire life.

reply
lol our lousy hockey teams! 😂 I have to laugh to stop myself from crying
reply
Look on the bright side. @siggy47's team is just as bad as yours.
reply
But they beat us. Been an incredibly frustrating weekend of hockey
reply
Probably no consolation but I think the Sabres are a more promising team than the Isles.
reply
It makes the challenge much more awesome. That's true fandom.

Looks like you buried the lead in the podcast description, but it bears repeating: LA DODGERS ARE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!
reply
We covered the Dodgers. I even admitted they need to be overwhelming favourites next season. I didn't go out on the limb for your 3peat though. We can revisit that a year from now after they close out the 2025 WS.
reply
I meant Chiefs 3peat sorry!
reply
reply
Ok next week we have to cover Chiefs potential 3peat. Even if I believed it was so I would say nay but we will get that on the record so I can look like a fool in February when they win again by some fluke, the refs screwing up or Mahomes making some miraculous drive.
reply
Had to zap you a pity 100 sats.
You know they’re UNDEFEATED right?
reply
The Eagles were 10-1 last year. How did that work out for them? I am not saying the Chiefs are the Eagles but lots of football left.
reply
Who's most likely to knock them off? Maybe the Lions. The Chiefs pretty much own everyone in the AFC.
They're going to lock up the division by like week 12 and then just prepare for the postseason run for six straight weeks. Gross.
reply
Everyone who drafted Mahomes in fantasy will cry 😭😭
Someone should make a poll to motivate this segment.
reply
reply
Yes please add polls to your pre plan meetings!
reply
We prefer to discuss posts made by stackers other than myself or @grayruby. (Hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
That's fair. We did go through your Dodgers questions on the pod, but they deserved more love in the synopsis.
reply
Thank you for answering my questions!
LA needs the most love since it’s the most loved city in the world! 💯💯
reply
That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about the world to disprove it.
reply
Nice recap format.
Yes I did forget about that bet. It sounded vaguely familiar- like something I would definitely do without giving it much consideration- but I didn't recall any details about it. Just send me the invoice when I lose. Haha.
reply
I've got another one for you. Again, you can choose the side.
No player who has already won an NBA MVP will win another.
reply
Ever? or this season?
reply
Ever: i.e. no more MVPs for Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, KD, Steph, Lebron, Harden, or Westbrook.
reply
I don't know about that. I don't want to bet against Jokic or Giannis. I don't think the other guys will win again.
I am not going to remember this 3 years from now when Giannis is MVP but I will take the MVPs.
reply
Alright, so I'm on the side of the torch having been passed. 2k?
