Of course this article is a pitch for clemency. I don't blame him or begrudge him the effort. He was given a very harsh sentence, which had a lot to do with the allegation that he hired someone to kill a confidential informant, if I recall correctly. Whatever the situation, I hope he finds peace.

It was a tragic misapplication of justice as the chat logs that were the basis for those allegations were never part of Ross' trial, and those charges were dropped. And of course, there was no murder, and the entire reason there was a conflict to begin with followed after a rogue Secret Service agent stole $350K worth of bitcoin from the person who, it is claimed, was targeted.
There were multiple corrupt federal agents from mutliple federal law enforcement agencies who went to prison for performing illegal acts in the line of duty in pursuing this case, yet they have since been released. Yet Ross continues to serve a double life sentence with no hope of parole ... for operating a website.
