That being said
Given onion routing, how much censorship can Coinbase do as a lightning node before they stop being an effective liquidity provider / lsp/ custodial lightning wallet?
Not a rhetorical or partisan question. Genuinely interested in hearing from experts who have thought about this.

In order to open a channel with them or use their liquidity is all KYC and tracked.

This probably really helped Bitcoin. Libra would be pretty big today if the central planners hadn't stepped in. This happening also massively orange pilled a lot of silicon valley bros.

I suppose if there was ever a chance to dethrone bitcoin, that may have been it.
