Thanks @Undisciplined for disclosing your mythical strategy for Cricket Pool. Keep it up!
I'm glad you've noticed that the pool has over 100k sats pot for the annual rewards. I've actually filled in a total of 220k Sats to the pot from myself. The divide is as following.
  • 100k sats for the annual reward.
  • 10k sats × 12 months (= 120k sats) for every month.
  • In addition to these whatever sats are zapped to the 'I Predict Cricket' post are divided into 2. Half goes to monthly pot and half is added to the annual pot.
  • Currently the annual pot stands at 109k sats and will keep on increasing until we play the last round of October 2025.
Looking at the final score by Stackers for previous month, I think the winner of the annual pot would need 600+ runs. So, I think if you have a bad month in the pool, to recover you need to keep on scoring at least 50+ runs for the next month.
What is jumbo?
  • If your all six predictions are correct, you score 10 runs. So, the jumbo gives you 4 extra points for making all correct predictions.
  • Let's say if a stacker gets jumbo in all 11 rounds in the month, he can get 110 points maximum. However, I don't think someone will be able to achieve it unless we've more rounds in a month.
What's Bingo?
  • If you make 5 correct predictions out of all. You get an extra run; which means you get 6 runs.
Runs Scoring?
  • For 1 correct prediction, you get 1 run.
  • For two correct Predictions, you get two runs,
  • For three correct Predictions, you get three runs
  • For four correct Predictions, you get four runs.
I hope it helps or you can read the same here. #749649

That all sounds familiar. I just don't always have it all top-of-mind while we're talking about the pool.

I understand. I just thought it'd be better I revise it here and then also in a few posts.

Regarding my prediction of Celtics not making the knockout stage, that's based on the prediction that the Knicks will beat the Magic on Tuesday, and that game will be a close game. If that were the case, Celtics and Magic will both be fighting for the wildcard spot. Magic is currently sitting on +60 pts diff, while Celtics is at +23. Even if Magic loses by 10, they will still be at +50 pts diff, which means Celtics need to beat the Bulls by more than 27pts to get in. It's the Bulls after all, definitely doable by the Celtics. Celtics would have a much easier path to getting in via the wildcard spot if the Magic were to beat the Knicks on Tuesday, because Knicks are currently sitting at +15 pts diff.
Teams will be fighting over Maxey if 76ers wants to unload him; he has already shown he can step up and take over, but I think there is still room for him to improve. But PG is a professional podcaster and an amateur basketball player at this point, while he's asking for professional basketball wages, so I really don't see which team would want him...
If both Suns and OKC win their games on Tuesday, OKC wins the group because they beat the Suns head to head; that means OKC gets in for sure. If Mavs beat Grizzlies, Mavs will likely win the wildcard spot due to better pts diff, unless Suns absolutely destroy Spurs and gets ahead of Mavs in pts diff. So it will actually be Suns and Mavs fighting for the wildcard spot if all Suns, OKC, and Mavs all win on Tuesday.
I should have followed you when you made the Giannis MVP bet. How the odds change just in a short few weeks.
Saying a premature happy anniversary to the territory. I'm glad you provided this place for me to talk basketball and sometimes other sports too. It had been a fun year hanging out here. Thank you again for creating and running the territory GR!

Haha you are falling into the same trap I made last year and mentioned on the pod about the Celtics.
I tend to agree. Magic are playing really well right now. The Knicks will likely beat them but even 10 is a lot. That should be a close game. Celtics might have to win by 30 or more to get in but I won't bet against them if they really want to do it.
Can you believe @Undisciplined wanted to trade Ingram for PG? You guys follow basketball a lot closer than me and even I know that's crazy talk.

I wouldn't make that trade for sure if I control the Pels. Just look at the stats, IG averaging 23 while PG averaging 14. But the most important stat line of all is games played, 16 vs 9. So yes, I can't believe he even suggested that trade.

He is also 7 years younger than PG

I think the biggest mistake teams make is treating guys like Ingram as though they can be part of a contender. Treating guys like PG-13 that way is only the second biggest mistake.

I think that's right but you don't solve a problem with another problem. And I don't mean problem in the good, cool way.

The Pelicans need a guy who plays like George, just in case Zion ever plays basketball again, and the 76ers need a guy who actually plays basketball.
I think they're both very distressed assets.

A lot of ifs there. And with the way Zion looking showing off his new gained man-boobs and belly lately in his tatoo video, that if Zion plays again probably becomes a big if. And even if he does play again, how long will he last before getting hurt again at this weight?
Might be good for Pels to admit defeat, admit the Zion draft was a bust, and start thinking about rebuilding. Getting PG does nothing for the Pels unless they get some first round picks along with it.
Dying on this hill is akin to me dying on the Pacers hill. Haha
I see the logic. I just don't think Pelicans would or should do it.
I was talking about the wrong matchup on the pod. It's the Bucks/Pistons game that has to be close to keep the Celtics out.
