Books like "Broken Money:"by Lyn Alden highlight how global finances work.
"The creature from jekyll island" gives you a big insight into central banking. (There's probably better books for that)
The thing is, when you see who controls money, how money flows from the global South to the global North, and the incentive structure for people in power to act poorly, it gives you a different lense to look through.
I'm probably not the best person on SN to talk to about geopolitical issues, but my understanding of the world around me has increased significantly just by learning about money.
