For some time now I have been reading almost exclusively on Stacker News. This has been for a VERY GOOD REASON. I have been working on THE CUBAN BASIC BITCOIN COURSE that we conducted on the Isle of Youth. Always counting on the help of @Cuba_BTC, thus creating an extension of that community on another island in the Cuban archipelago.
We use the book My First Bitcoin as a base, videos from some like @criptopanas and BTCAndres. We inevitably always analyze the excellent guides from @DarthCoin for beginners. They helped me a lot with everything related to the Lightning Network, from explaining how it works, channels and nodes, with the analogies of airports and glasses of water, the selection of wallets by levels, including the podcast 248 with Lunaticoin, which we also share as if LNTCN and @DarthCoin were part of the course.
The Onchain practices on transactions, creation and use of OnlyWatch and Multisignature wallets were thanks to Nunchuk, in this case @hugomofn helped us with the clarification of the use of Testnet4 in this wallet, thanks for that.
Finally after 5 weeks of hard work, a lot of PoW, we finished and here I share some photos of the first graduation of the Cuban Basic Course on Bitcoin in La Isla de la Juventud and the first Meetup on Bitcoin on the Island. Thanks to everyone who has had to do with the emergence of this new community La IslaBTC

This is why bitcoin exists. Take some time to congratulate yourselves. You should watch some @JoeNakamoto videos for inspiration on circular economies.
Great work!

Thank you for your support. There is actually no problem at the moment. Among the graduate students there are people who work in banking institutions.

fuck'em ! Why people need their approval to learn about bitcoin? Bitcoin is DEFIANCE!

obvs fuck them , i just wonder if this is seen as something that has to be done clandestine style or whether it's not a big deal in Cuba

The great thing here may not be whether it is legal or not, for the moment everything is calm, they do not say yes but neither do they say no. The great thing here is to do it with super slow internet, blackouts and miserable salaries where the Ponzzis have done tremendous damage. Even so, we educate in Bitcoin and we are fighting for a circular economy.

sounds like you are doing an amazing job, changing people's lives for the better

That is the goal. To help as many people as we can and above all, to make people want to be helped. Thank you.

You MUST stand your ground when is about to defend your freedom. Otherwise is just begging for privileges.

Off topic-- Do you know people there who use LoRA or other low-power, long-range technologies? What about Starlink?

Amazing work! I heard Cubans have trouble getting power these days. How is that affecting adoption patterns? Is keeping phones charged and online a major barrier?
