What is the best way to insure my non-tech-savvy partner is able to access my coin when I am gone? (Self-custody a must)

You might want to check out these projects :

The base features that you're looking for :

  • Timelock (ability to make a certain UTXO only spendable after certain time)
  • Multisig is not exactly the answer but when you're still alive, you can do for example 2-of-3 set up and keep 2 of those keys and give 1 to your partner

Cryptoasset Inheritance Planning: A Simple Guide for Owners by Pamela Morgan (scuse the fact "crypto" in the title - but there is some very practical tips on succession planning for digital assets)

Its quite a difficult task to do your own. Good that you have started thinking about it. You basically need a way for your heirs to be able to access your keys if you were to pass, but not before it. Getting your heirs to learn a few things about what kind of wallet you're using while you can would help a lot.

The simple solution is just to use unchained or casa I guess.

Tell her to study bitcoin, and teach her when she comes asking questions.

If she can't bother to do the work, then she doesn't deserve your sats.

Lol not gonna deny my spouse and child food and housing just because there is a lack of enthusiasm for the coin.

reply

is not "enthusiasm"... it's survival.

everyone gets the amount of sats they deserve.
if your partner does not put in the study time,
she or he can lose the sats in a single click.
that is the harsh truth. there are no shortcuts.
study hard or learn thru pain.

knowledge => understanding => action.
skips steps at ur own peril, so to speak.

Time to sit down and shhplain how to set up a wallet from seed phrase and do a transaction - then how to import seed phrase into a wallet - if not-so-tech-savvy able to read your will and plan your funeral, they won't have a problem learning this
