As mentioned in my inaugural post, I'm going to be searching for the optimal posting fee for ~econ.
My suspicion is that we were above the optimum, so I'm beginning with a halving. If this brings in more revenue than last month (48k), then I'll continue with another reduction to 54. Otherwise, I'll increase to the midway point of 161.
@cryotosensei told me that 108 has special significance, so let's see if it gives us a special month.
MORE MONEY CLASS OF THE DAY @denlillaapan!!
reply
WE DEMAND MORE!
reply
Presumably twice as much, right?
reply
Econ feels expensive, I am not getting as much recognition as in "alter_native" (I am too stupid to link to this territory). Sure @denlillaapan is swimming in sats and he deserves every single one of them in econ but for me as a low pleb it's hard to get interacitons going here.
reply
Give us another shot. I predict that we'll make it worth your while.
reply
Will do!
reply
Haha, maybe i should try to optimise my ~science posting fee the same way too. But I'm already getting a limited number of unique posters with my low 21 sat posting fee that i risk alienating the few i have for little cumulative upside if i increase the fee, and risk attracting spam if i decrease it even more. Will monitor your updates on this.
reply
I've noticed people who used to post a lot in econ start choosing less expensive territories, so I do have a pretty strong signal that the price is too high.
reply
Yeah. ~econ was actually the only expensive territory i occasionally posted in, as i would always expect a positive ROI with zapa outweighing the high fee. But i would always refuse to post in any of the other expensive territories. Let's see if ~econ is special.
reply
I think the decision to cut it in half is a very good one. This will allow those who already produce quality content, such as @Tomk and @denlillaapan, which I usually enjoy a lot, to now bring more good content to continue learning.
reply
Given that I'm usually zapped thousands, the posting fee was never an obstacle for me!
reply
I'm glad that's your situation (No need for SATS because you already have them) but I thought about it in terms of budget. ehem if before you had 100k SATS to make 500 posts paying 200 SATS for each one, now you can make double with the same budget. šŸ’ŖšŸ¤ šŸŠāš”
reply
Oh right, I suppose so. The net profit of a post is higher with a lower fee
reply
Part of the impetus was seeing @TomK taking his business elsewhere. I consider him one of the foundational pillars of ~econ.
reply
Nice way to find the top of the curve (p*q). Its almost like you studied econ!
reply
It's got to be worth something, right?
reply
Great. I will admit I have chosen to post my wonderful Canadian content in politics instead of econ a couple times because: a) I prefer Siggy over Jeff (nothing against Jeff but Siggy is my pal) b) the fee is only 50 sats
reply
Now Canada can be mocked appropriately.
You're not the only one who's been posting more ~econ-ish content in Siggy's territory. I'm trying to draw them back over.
