Today, Boltz is launching Boltz Pro, a service that lets users help Boltz manage its bitcoin wallet and Lightning channel liquidity, and I plan to test it out.
But first some background on how Boltz Pro works.
According to Kilian, a co-founder of Boltz, the balances of Boltz’s wallets and Lightning channels are constantly shifting, especially as the volume and velocity of sats flowing through the platform increases.
So, the idea behind Boltz Pro is that users can help provide liquidity for swaps in the event that Boltz’s balances run low.
Interesting, it works via negative fees:
So if I send 1m sats onchain to boltz, I would receive 1m sats + 594 sats on lightning. Mhh, interesting, but that doesn't include the mining fee. But if I would send them ~25m, I would earn 37.5k sats:

Boltz Pro fees are negative again! https://pro.boltz.exchange/ Take advantage of it to re-balance your channels or to just make some swaps you want to make whenever is more convenient fees wise.
Nice, but the rate will have to increase to make it attractive. It's easy to find ways to earn more than 1500ppm and those alternatives have other benefits on top op them (like it doesn't fill up my boltz channel and with opening a sink channel I can rebalance it for future profits).
I would be interested in this when rates were somewhere towards 3000ppm.
Big fan of Boltz. Ever since opening a channel my routing increased and it helps rebalance channels. Boltz is great !
Michael said these negative rates won't change too often. This means they mainly see flows from lightning into onchain (Bitcoin and Liquid). This makes sense, because paying a lightning invoice is truly anonymous, while getting paid doxes your node. So you don't earn free sats, but sell your privacy in the process.
Probably more because inbound liquidity is the scarce resource.
Use Bolt12 with blinded paths!
Sure. But to do it right requires spinning a new node and buying a private channel from someone. That someone will see your flows. So anonymity has costs and risks. That is why inbound liquidity is more scarce.
