Japan is the only non-European country that meets these criteria. I imagine South Korea will be there soon.
Im pretty sure most of the developed asian countries are facing this problem.
The older generation dwarfs the new and younger population.
I know Japan for sure has this problem.
Taiwan and China, too.
reply
It does, but 20% of the population over 65 is pretty extreme. China and Taiwan aren't there yet.

And soon it will happen in the USA.
The baby boomer population is getting older.
They hold a lot of the wealth right now.
reply
I don't think the US will get there:
- Our old people are substantially less healthy, so they have higher mortality
- We have far more young immigrants
- We have a much higher birth rate
reply
Old people have a tendency to linger.
Im not saying our situation will get as bad as Japans, but you can already see the imbalance.
reply
Absolutely. It's a difference in degree, not a difference in kind.

There is supposed to be a big transfer of wealth...
But maybe it wont happen if the boomers dont put money into btc?
Even though the millennial generation is said to have the lowest amount of wealth accumulated, it might change if enough people adopt it.
reply
The Boomers ain't transferring nothin'. We have to build our own wealth and stop thinking about transfers.
