pull down to refresh

You probably know that Sensei loves free stuff. Sometimes, getting free things is energy sapping, but with a new year comes a fresh slate. So, I am determined to pursue all the opportunities for me to get free things, which will consequently help me spend less of my money.
There’s a food court called Kopitiam that gives its patrons a free cup of coffee when they fill in a survey. So, that’s what I did.
A few days later, this came in my email. I just needed to scan a QR code at the coffee stall to redeem my cup of bliss.
For some of you, you may hold firmly to the principle of Time is Money and not want to carve out time to visit the food court to use the QR code. As in, having to expend the QR code just adds additional cognitive load onto your expanding list of things to do. That was how I felt many a time last year.
In The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron suggests scheduling an artist’s date, taking a few hours each week to nurture your creative consciousness.
I thought a way to reframe the time crunch was to mentally categorise it as an artist’s date with myself. Sipping a hot cup of coffee leisurely while working on an article more substantial than my usual pieces. Scheduling quiet time to enjoy my own company (in spite of the noisy food court). That could work.
So, that was what I did today. I planned to work on an article titled “Ways Stackers Generate Their Creative Ideas From”, but I got sidetracked and read up on forces as detailed in primary school Science assessment books. Nonetheless, I had a good hour or so - just absorbing, learning, taking down notes.
Because I ordered black coffee, I was given a QR code to scan, after which points would be added to my account with Healthy365. Yes, my health authorities pay us to lead healthy lives by allowing us to redeem such points for supermarket vouchers. I liked the ripple effect generated by this free cup of coffee. One free thing leads to another and…This is how a virtuous cycle is formed.
How do you spend time with yourself?
i'm always suspicious when someone wants to give me something. is it really free?
reply
Well I guess Kopitiam expects us to spend time buying other foods and beverages. It’s like attracting bees with honey or flies with rubbish haha
reply
Yes, there should be that expectation. I don't know if the survey is anonymous, but if it isn't, your data is theirs forever. The value of this data is relative, for me it's more valuable than a cup of coffee!

Each to their own but I have to agree with @0xbitcoiner - there ain’t no free lunch… if you are not paying for it, you’re not the customer, you are the product.

Pretty Cool
I spend time with myself......most of the time I think.

Last year I was working on Albums for Wavlake and a short story, read A Lodging of Wayfairing Men, throwing up items on shopstr.
Set up my bitaxe, tried fixing my start 9
Running, listening to music while working.
I'm a bit of a loner.

I think your mindset is so fixated on hustling that you don’t feel the need to socialise?

A coffee sounds good to relax. How did you make it last an hour, though. I always seem to drink my coffee in 10 minutes. Must be because I always have to work haha

I love free coffee from the hotel lobby

Who doesn't like a free cup of coffee? I've definitely been cutting financial corners wherever I can lately.
As to how I spend my free time with myself, it's usually lifting weights. That's my little slice if time i have all to myself.

sold your info for a cup of coffee+ health points in that account?
Oh, well. Probably worth it!
