Ann Telnaes, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist for The Washington Post, said on Friday evening that she was resigning after the newspaper’s opinions section rejected a cartoon depicting The Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos, genuflecting toward a statue of President-elect Donald J. Trump.

I look at this from the standpoint of you have to know who you are working for and what your audience is. WaPo has shifted further and further right under Bezos and so its stupid to think you can not only mock Trump but also your boss and not get told no.
I feel like she wanted a reason to leave and used this as a reason to leave.

As far as cartoons go, this one is pretty benign, (and I love the Mickey Mouse in color).
Still, this story reminded me that last year, the Washington Post killed another cartoon, which admittedly was much more incendiary. But I wonder what Telnaes thought about that at the time.
