Siggy, I have a question for you. What do you consider an OG bitcoiner?
I thought about this yesterday when you started talking about it. I always thought if you were around to get caught up in the MtGox collapse, you were OG. As the years go by, I'm starting to put guys like @grayruby in that category, who first bought around 2016. I remember the Fall /Winter 2017 media hype. If you got in before that, I count you as an OG.

I consider OGs to be people around since 2013 or earlier.
I think eventually OGs will be considered anyone who go into bitcoin in the first decade.

Someone once told me that as people age, they readjust the age at which they consider a person old. The rough guide is your age plus 15 years. This OG subjective designation reminds me of that.
reply
I think that’s roughly right on both accounts.

That is something I can believe. I dont find anything wrong with the term OG, its just that it can lead to confusion when used. Especially...is an OG a person who used bitcoin but didnt keep any? Because there were a lot of those. Is an OG a person who hodl throughout at least one bitcoin bear market? There is a lot to consider when using this term.
reply
When everyone uses the term OG, I was expecting from 2009 to 2012 era. The people that got caught in MtGox were forced to hodl. lol
