I'll be completely honest, I don't even know what "node" means. How or where can one start to learn about these topics? I say topics because I don't even know what area of "technology" to classify it in. Just reading me is enough to compare me to my grandmother learning how to use WhatsApp.
Every time I read their posts I don't understand ANYTHING, but at the same time I am amazed and surprised, I just think, shit I want to learn, I want to know what the hell they are talking about.
Nodes, routes, and I don't know what other terms they talk about that I've already forgotten the names of.
After learning how to turn the computer on and off... what is the next step to learn about what you are talking about? A basic guide for developers? A basic guide to using Excel I think would be the start and then what?
Create a page? How the hell do you do that?
I think I've made my point. Do you have any suggestions or tips I can follow to start learning?
Although I am always amazed when I read them, I feel annoyed for not understanding anything. I want this new goal in my life, I want to know more.
PS: I don't know if the title is correct, maybe it has another name.
I don't even know what "node" means
Sounds like you need to start at the beginning

I haven't tried it but https://replit.com/learn/100-days-of-python sounds pretty cool...
I used to be a software engineer many moons ago and have often thought about trying this to get back into things...

Dare I say it but have you heard of the guides from @DarthCoin on here?
Absolute plethora of information on everything you need to know, for everyone from beginners to experienced
I've used them many times
reply
Yes, I have heard of your guides, but I didn't know that there was basic information for beginners. I am much further from a beginner.

Should I change this meme?
OP have exactly 1 year on SN and imagine that NEVER ever read not a single guide of mine LOL. Even if would read 1 guide per day, just reading, not doing nothing and will still learn something in 2-3 months.
Or this meme is more appropiate?

You're right, I won't deny it. I have been careless. I have not been consistent in my learning in this world, but is it too late to do so?

it's up to you now. I did all I could for Bitcoin. Now is YOUR turn.

Yes, I know darling, no one has said otherwise and thousands of people thank you for it.

Nah, he's just pretending to be tough. Which guide do you suggest I should start with? Which one is the most basic and simple of all?
I don't want anybody's thanks. I just want people to use Bitcoin and learn how to use it. That's all, that's why I wrote all those guides, to be read and people to learn. The best "thanks" for me is when I see more merchants accepting BTC and people paying them in sats, like all these. That is for me the ultimate goal and satisfaction. https://darth-coin.github.io/merchants/bitcoin-lightning-payments-irl-en.html

You say no on SN but deep down you know that if you appreciate gratitude, don't pretend to be a rock. With me you can't pretend to be an emotionless robot. I'll still pat you on the back while saying: Thanks Darh 💖
Edid: I saw that you changed your answer, I promise I will read them, I don't want to be another ignorant person. I have to do it, for my daughter and for my family.

Thanks Darh 💖
That means hypocrisy... it means you didn't read ANY of my guides and that makes me even more sad and angry... all my work was in vain. Show some proof of work and start by reading and not just my guides but many other out there. On my site you also have a "Resources" page with even more information.
This is the way

I think this is the way now...

Think he just wanted to know meaning of node but alright 🤣🤣

Not just talking about nodes, but about everything. It's too much information and I don't know where to start, that's why I said: after turning on the computer what's the next step? Any random darhcoin guide? Is he the only one with information? And I didn't just want to refer to topics about bitcoin but to the Internet in general. I can't find how to ask my question correctly.

We were talking about nodes on SN all these years... In 1 year could learn what is a node, just by reading all the posts.
Seriously now, I feel like I was talking with walls all this time.

From the terms you mention, it sounds like you want to learn about lightning (you're talking about nodes and routes).
I'd say that lightning is NOT the best place to start. I think that lightning is actually very tricky.
Maybe define a little bit more specifically:
  • what you want to know?
  • or what task do you want to be able to accomplish?
And also what @satcat said - use AI.
You can use AI very easily, by going to https://seach.brave.com, and typing
tell me in language a 10 year old could understand - how does bitcoin lightning work?

I feel very grateful for your comment. I want to learn many things, there are so many that I don't know how or where to start. Yes, I want to know more about lightning, I want to know the things that programmers do, I want to know how to create things on the internet. I feel a little ridiculous trying to explain what I want to know, that's why for a long time I was embarrassed to ask, but I don't care anymore, I just want to learn. For some reason I didn't feel a little comfortable using AI, but I will give it a chance. Thank you again, your answer helped me a lot.

No problem! And also - yes, it's super easy now to use AI especially since lots of search engines now do it by default, as their first result.
I think the best way might be to think of a goal...like "I want to do XXX". That can be anything. Like -put up a classified ad online -start a podcast -learn how to use excel or google sheets

Well, to start with, understanding the lightning network is not really the same as programming.
For the lightning network, think of it as a bunch of interconnected wallets (i.e. nodes). A wallet can only send money to another wallet if they have a "channel" between each other.
But let's say I want to send sats to a wallet I'm not connected to. How do I do that? I basically send it through a bunch of intermediary wallets. That's known as "routing".
Ok, so what's this business about capacity?
Each channel is like an hourglass. When I send sats through a channel, some sand moves to the other side of the hourglass. Once all the sand is on the other side, I can't send sats in that direction anymore. Some of the sand has to be sent back to my side, i.e. if someone sends me sats through that channel or routes sats through that channel back to me.
So when we say that SN lacks liquidity, it means that its hourglasses are fully on one side or another, and it's having a hard time moving sats through from one wallet to another.
This is likely what happened with coinos. All the sand in SN's channel with coinos got sent to one side, and it couldn't send anymore through that channel.

Ok, and how or where did I start to learn about this? To do things myself. Yesterday my head was exploding (from the surprise) when you were talking to K00b #840103. I just thought how great these guys are hahaha this is another level

A lot of the resources you'll find by googling are too complicated, imo.
DarthCoin has an airport analogy which makes sense: https://darth-coin.github.io/beginner/ln-airport-analogy-en.html
But ultimately, the best way to learn is to set up a node and use it: #723978.

Came here to say this
This is the most obvious answer.
There should be a saying for the AI-deniers like we have in bitcoin… like “have fun staying stupid” or something.
Oh, so you DONT want a 1:1 tutor you can pay pennies for that is nearly as smart as a phd that will never get tired of your questions?… “HFSS”
