I didn't know you were Canadian. Is the entire damn country on SN?
reply
All 2 of them?

What are the odds?

He is a Canadian living in the US. Does that even count? Haha
reply
I’m prepared. Will simplify work visa and cross border tax lol
reply
It better, since you're all going to be Canadians living in the US pretty soon.
reply
Better not let us vote. Unless you like permanent power for the Dems.

Being a territory is a better deal than being a state anyway. I suggest Canada negotiate for that. No voting and no taxes.

No federal taxes but our next socialist governor will make territory income tax 60%.
reply
Sure, but that was going to happen either way.

Peurto Rico people pay taxes
reply
Not to the feds
reply
Yes they do.
Peurto Ricans don't pay federal income tax on income derived from within Peurto Rico.
Man look at all those qualifiers.
Workers in Puerto Rico pay Social Security taxes, self-employment taxes, and more. IRS figures for 2023 show that Puerto Rico paid $5,140,301, compared with Vermont’s $5,660,731.
You'll be like Peurto Rico. Forever a territory, never a state

This was slick

The US needs less states not more. One of the worst ideas I have heard in a while. I'm for breaking up the US. It's already far to large and diverse.
reply
No way this happens. Trump is an amazing troll but for real. No way.
reply
No, because Canada would vote bluer than California.
I voted depends on the deal for context but I think it is mostly a bad idea.
reply
I think you split western Canada, eastern Canada, and Quebec into their own states / territories.
West = republican Ontario = dem Quebec = bloc Quebec independent lol
Just give them equal seats
