After hearing Lyn Alden speak today, I started web searching and came across her quote about writing Broken Money:
I was also extremely fortunate to have Joakim Book provide editing and research assistance for the project. Joakim is an editor and monetary historian with degrees in economics and financial history from the University of Glasgow and the University of Oxford, and he reached out about working on the project when the book was nearly finished after hearing about it from one of my interviews. I wrote Broken Money from a blended engineering and financial background, so it was great to have someone of Joakim’s caliber fact-check my historical observations and economic inferences, as well as bring additional source material to my attention.
For those who don't know, Joakim Book is none other than @denlillaapan, who has been writing posts here for the past few months.
I knew he edited Broken Money, but Lyn's words give more perspective.
I was reluctant to post this. His ego seems healthy enough as it is, and I hope this doesn't mean we can't make fun of him once in a while.
Goes to show that when we master our niche, we can promote ourselves to the right people and make it work.
Well done, @denlillaapan!
I hope to one day be proud I was @denlillaapan referral. The one bright spot for @grayruby knowing I was his referral
Besides my children it is my greatest accomplishment.
Besides?! ☠️
What? Holy shit. Wow, glad to know that.
I always say that this is the book to read about btc. I'd be super proud if I had anything to do with it. Nice one.
read a lot, have a lot of knowledge, but it's impossible for our name to be in the BTC book, because we are not the creators, or maybe we could be one of the authors who studied the introduction of BTC, what do you think?
I always found it a bit interesting how he comments on here.
The image I had of him clashes with the him on here lol
What image did you have?
Younger version of this.
Ghahahaha.
Yeah, nah. Probs more like this
Ok I like this!!
haha, with your replies, I can believe it.
That's a nice way to put it~~
I think I've seen few stackers think he's a woman, too.
Oh man, this is hilarious! 🤣
What an endorsement! I know Lyn is held in very high regard in the bitcoin space and here on SN and for good reason. The only question that remains is can @denlillaapan convince Lyn to come on for another AMA?
Yes, certainly. I find him to be very open minded. He never holds back to fun.
True true true.
I shall require some humility checks
Imagine getting to work with Lyn Alden! So jealous.
very cool, Broken Money was an excellent read
Wow I had no idea
Did you just dox him?
No. Check his bio, and his many posts which links to his writing on Bitcoin Magazine and other sites.
That's an unexpected surprise! Wow! Happy to know that.
