While SpaceX was able to catch the Starship booster for the second time time the Starship suffered some sort of catastrophic failure resulting in it disintegrating in the atmosphere. This is resulting in chunks of it starting to rain down throughout the Caribbean and to avoid any sort of catastrophic incident the FAA is ordering flights in the area to get out of the sky since they do not know what is coming down where.
I am sure the FAA and Elon are going to get into it as well as the airlines that are now getting messed with due to the spaceship failure. Luckily with the Trump admin coming in it will likely not cause a long delay but still its an issue nonetheless.

For those wondering how close the planes were…. Way to damn close if you ask me. The first video is from the cockpit of an airline

Is there any consequence to this kind of fuck up? Like can airline companies sue SpaceX? Or do they get a freepass coz it's space and expectations are different from land transport fuck ups?

Well the FAA is going to likely run them through the ringer.... I am not sure with the new admin what exactly the FAA will do with Trumps relationship with Musk.
Airlines likely cant go after SpaceX and instead would go after the FAA because it is up to them to monitor and let the airlines know so that anything like this can be addressed before flights take off

Thanks.
Will be interesting to see what happens, indeed.

Not a fan of Biden, but the oligarchy reference resonates when I read this.
