pull down to refresh

My best ever was 197.5kg when I was at 95kg bodyweight.
Today (I've not trained DL in a little while), 180kg was rough, 182.5kg didn't even come off the ground :( I'm at 100kgs BW.
Not every day is a PR day. And letting your training lapse to go a different direction will result in a decline on the exercise you're not training.
Progress is slow. But i will breach 200kgs.
(NB, had a little popping sensation in my ribs during the 182.5 attempt, probably just a slight pull on an intercostal but now that's sore 😭😭)
Block by block, progressive overload 💪💪
MOAR WEIGHT!!
182.5 is huge! How many plates?
reply
4plates. + A little 1.25kgs each side (~3lbs).
So I'm still in the 4plate club. 💪💪
Although the "standard" or "expectation" benchmarks are.
1xBW Bench, 1.5xBW Squat, 2xBW DL.
So I'm a little behind the curve on my deadlift.
These are 1RMs not working sets 🤣🤣
reply
I was always great at DL and bench but not squats

You can do it Pub!
I haven't lifted heavy in quite a while. I still lift a couple times a week but usually just light dumbbells or kettlebells. I had a herniated disc in my back a couple years ago and since I have been super cautious about how much I am lifting.

I lost my focus on strength and switched to a more body building style of training. Which I got results from, but as I now want to reincorporate strength again, I'm seeing just how much regression you can get when you don't train specifically for that thing.
Ribs a little sore, I did a whoppsie...
We'll get there bit by bit.
Kettle bells are so versatile and great for dynamic training, I love adding kettle bell swings into the end of a workout. It's just as effective cardio wise as 30mins on a treadmill.

I love my kettle bells. As you mentioned so versatile and convenient. I keep a set of 20lb kettle bells nestled between the end of my sectional couch and a side table we have next to it. No one would know they were there unless you went looking and I can grab them quickly and do a quick and quiet work out at night while I am watching sports.

Accessibility is everything, we keep our yoga mats out so that the effort of unrolling them isn't a barrier to entry 🤣🤣
You can really get stuff done when you make it convenient.
reply
Absolutely. No excuses.

I can't advise you, but I can encourage you. Your goal will be achieved 💪🏋️
