Dogo Argentino is a large mastiff-type breed but Pitbull is a terrier breed.
This is one major difference between the two.
The Dogo Argentino was created in the 1920s in the province of Cordoba, located in the central region of the Republic of Argentina, by Dr. Antonio Nores Martinez, a doctor with a passion for dogs. He set out to create a large breed with exceptional hunting skills and strong work ethic by methodically crossbreeding many different purebreds, including the Great Dane, Bull Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Pointer, Irish Wolfhound, Spanish Mastiff, and Pyrenean Mastiff.

I get it. Thanks. I remembered I read somewhere it's a mix of Irish wolfhound and pyrenean Mastiff only.
But it was just half knowledge. I saw the foundation base that didn't include Great Dane but a now extinct Cordoba fighting dog, a mastiff breed, which looks pretty similar to Dogo Argentino.

The genetics that create all these type dogs is nuts. For instance, I remember reading that English Bulldogs and Great Danes are close genetically! The whole world of bulldogs has lots of controversy. For American Bulldogs, there is a mystery as to what breeds contributed.

Yes, you're right. I've also found this topic to be very confusing many times.
