This:
Often, when I speak with everyday Bitcoiners — plebs, if you will — they share with me that they’re torn between carrying on with their “fiat job” and getting more involved in the Bitcoin space on a professional level

You don't have to do that.

In fact, working in and for bitcoin is very arduous... strange, fast-paced world, filled with gut-wrenching price falls right after being paid (#873594) and the trouble jumping between fiat and Bitcoinland (#852354).
Corva has you covered:
instead of feeling that you have to drop whatever you’re doing for work to join the Bitcoin industry full-time, consider being a bridge to Bitcoin and bringing the Bitcoin industry to what you’re already doing.
Just add bitcoin to what you're currently selling. Or better yet, keep mining fiat and shovel that shit into our lovely orange coin. That's perfectly fine too.

Wish me luck - I am applying for the analyst job the egodeath has open currently :)
My gut tells me I'm gonna need all the luck I can get! But you never know so....

Find me a transportation company that pays in bitcoin and I'll consider it. I'm not qualified for much else currently.
So it makes my decision fairly easy.

As a pleb with a “fiat job,” you have an important role to play.
Is a moron that still support fiat system. Saying "I accept your fiat" is equal of saying I support your shitiest fiat system that enslave me...
STOP ACCEPTING FIAT ! Is the first step into your own liberation.
