This.
What is it going to take to get Bitcoiners to wake up and actually start changing the world?
I get that it's not easy right now, but it feels like these larping "maxis" are working harder on getting their fiat debit cards than they are getting off fiat. The Bitcoin community looks rotten right now and I'm pissed about it.
But you see them saying "nobody in my neighborhood is accepting bitcoin...".
FFS of course the merchants will never accept your bitcoin if you always go to them with a fucking visa card. They will never know you have bitcoin to pay.

So how do I buy my gasoline today?

Those are the kinds of industries that will be very last to get off fiat. So, it's okay to continue using fiat with them, for a while.
These kinds of movements happen with a domino affect. Start with the small merchants.... mom-and-pop, brick & mortar.... and this will force the suppliers of those shops to consider making the switch.... which will force larger institutions and countries to make the switch eventually.
The problem is, no one is really even pushing the smallest dominos to fall. Bitcoiners have to be willing to boycott some merchants, and go out of their way to support others. We have to start small.... we can't go after the big oil companies first. That will come later.
So, pay for gas with fiat now.... but go out of your way to find local farmers accepting Bitcoin for produce & meats.
With so many Bitcoiners using "bitcoin" debit/credit cards, I'm doubtful this revolution is ever going to even get off the ground. We're playing right into the hands of the central bankers while we larp about taking down fiat. As a community, we are not angry enough about fiat. We're too comfortable sleeping with the enemy. It's that simple.

Exactly.
If we don't start a war with the central banks, then we will never win a war against the central banks.
Trojan Horse theory can only get us so far. Eventually, enough of us have to just say NO to fiat, even if it (temporarily) makes our lives inconvenient.
I've tried getting off fiat.... but it's really tough because even the Bitcoiners around me aren't very supportive. This goal would not be very hard to achieve if we actually tried. There are enough Bitcoiners in my town that we could create a real circular economy. But they aren't very interested. Just NGU for 99% of them. Fucking unbelievable.

I argue it’s where you are in your Bitcoin journey. If you’ve been in space for years and have a huge stack of “Bitcoin”, you’ve got a huge store of value and likely generational wealth. Then you have new comers who talk in “sats,” not bitcoins and are trying every way they can to stack sats to one day get a solid stack. It’s all about perspective and we should be careful to judge. I doubt those ridiculing people were spending sats when they had as little as some of us?
