1: How did you find out about SN?

I set up an Alby Hub not too long ago to DCA over lightning, and I saw it in the connections area

2: How difficult was it to get started? Any feedback?

Setting up was pretty smooth, though I tried to "log in" with nostr a few times before I realised I needed to "sign up" first.

3: How much experience do you have with lightning?

I've had my Alby Hub set up for a few months now, but before that my only "experience" was listening to boosts on certain podcasts.

4: Have you read the FAQ already?

I really only glanced at it to discern the difference between CCs and Sats, and to figure out what a territory is.

5: Have you realized that you need to attach a wallet to receive sats?

That was the first thing I did, since I got on through my wallet application.

6: How was your first week on SN?

I think that it's an excellent concept, and there is a lot of really great content on here, but its strength is also its weakness. Since SN is pretty new, and part of the greater "Bitcoin community" (if there is such a thing), the postings are pretty much exclusively things that appeal most---if not exclusively---to Bitcoiners. Obviously I'm a Bitcoiner, but I have other interests too! As it stands, nearly all of the posts on the front page are at least finance-related, if not directly bitcoin-related. Obviously the solution to this is to "do it myself", but when the posts that receive the most sats are the posts that engage the greatest number of zappers (people with a deep interest in Bitcoin), it's hard to break through. V4V music has somewhat of the same problem (many songs are songs about Bitcoin), though it has been getting better recently. I suppose that's what it means to be an early adopter though.

That's cool! @Alby is also on SN; we're pretty good friends with them. I would say most stackers use Alby Hub afaik.

Yeah, we unfortunately don't expose a helpful error message currently. We have a ticket for it, and I just increased the priority on it. Thanks for the feedback!

That's true and you explained why that is the case very well.

Yes, it should get better over time. The release of territories improved it by a lot (before, there was only ~bitcoin, ~meta, ~nostr and ~tech) but we still have a long way to go.
For example, when territories have their own reward pools, people no longer have to compete for the (global) front page as much. Founders should then have the tools to make reaching the front page of their territory is rewarding enough. So hang in there :)
