Here's a simple question about your experience with Stacker News:

Which do you prefer?

Sometimes I'm amazed at how many sats a post of mine received. Other times I'm disappointed that I got little to no engagement.

I find that when replying to posts, I really need to have something to say. Often when I don't have anything to add, I zap instead.

Quality engagement is what makes Stacker News special. The sats based incentive system makes that possible.

It's nice when you get it.

The same goes for me, there are times when I publish something that should arouse a lot of interest and instead does not receive answers, other times, I share a curious link, but which for me does not deserve too much attention and rivers of answers are created.

Everything derives from sats

If there's lots of help from the community problem solving a particular situation, one might find that more valuable than 42 sats.

hm, yeah... fair

It depends on the post for me. It’s really encouraging to get some zaps when sharing something that I’ve thought through or made and want to share. On the other hand, and I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I have this weird experience occasionally where I am asking sn a question or posing a discussing piece and it gets zapped without any comment. That’s just kind of confusing to me.

That said, I’m really just excited right now to see what @DarthCoin has to say about this poll. 🍿🍿🍿🍿

THIS. People are zapping only to see the answers, but they never answer. Wrong behavior. People must zap the good answers. Not the ones that align with their vision/opinion but the ones that are RIGHT. But seems that people don't know yet what is right and wrong and zap/vote only with their ass.

Engagement in stacker news is definitley needed especially if people may post something they may expect something in return for instance, if a post is discussing something some people may find it helpful this is what the post is written for, To reach those who think have something to say about it. therefore, Sats and reward system may get in the game act as a form of taking part into this process. just enjoy while you can and have fun.

reply

I'd rather get good conversation. Sats are still cheap and people are ready to sell it in exchange of dollars

reply

I like engagement. I like talking to people, my zaps are bribes to keep them talking. 😉

reply

So when you got nothing to write about, you zap instead

reply

There are two types of responders: people who pick SATS, and liars!

reply

Both

What about cowboy credits?

CCs are just fine because are used to post more on SN. Using more CCs it means you spend less of your sats. That means real stacking, you spend sats only on things that really matter in your life. Posting on SN is not a life changing thing. You can live without posting/zapping on SN but you cannot live without your sats.

Hating to receive CCs in SN it means literally that you hate your sats. You really do not appreciate enough your sats. Will take some time until people will remember my words...

reply

same of sats in this case.

reply

Just found a cowboy hat. I think engagement with a little spill of sats.
