If you're talking about laptop storage, I'm currently using a 1TB SSD. But I mainly rely on the cloud—got about 5TB there for most of my files. Local just for speed and essentials. :)
ahhh. I must have been sleepy when I answered. Anyway, I was told by the person who introduced me to BTC that people should not be running BTC nodes on their main PC or at least on one that they don't run 24/7.
was he wrong about this? should we run nodes on our PCs?
Your node is your personal property, so there's not really anybtubg your 'should/n't' do with it.
That said, you can run a node on any pc with a network connection and ~7GB of storage. The important thing is that it is synced to the network when you are verifying transactions.
Syncing the entire network takes a significant amount of time now (could be >1 week last I checked depending on your hardware).
That's a rather personal question
Never ask a node runner their size
1 TB at the moment, but I will upgrade to a 2 TB soon.
Very simple 2 TB for my node but I also prune, but have a separate NAS I could always utilize if desired with 30 TBs space for my Plex media server.
I have read that a 2TB drive will future proof your node. I am going to go for a Umbrel node and try and run the lightning network on it.
Actually my last main-net node is made from: 256Gb of SSD and 3TB of HDD for data. Byt my testnet node has 128Gb of SSD and two 2Tb HDD in mirror

He’s asking about your Bitcoin node, where you store the blockchain
