The main issue is that many people is just looking for ideas to monetize, and many succeed providing useless products and services, creating first the behaviors that's needed.
I wonder why people don't just focus in creating value first? Monetization should be just a natural consequence. Trade and businesses powering free market. We try to explore these topics in the ~AGORA. Maybe is still to early...
this territory is moderated
Making real value should come first. But I think a lot of people don't realise how tricky it is to define what value is and for whom. Sometimes the market figures it out before the founder does.
Do you think I could move my business thoughts to ~AGORA?

Correct, mostly because people itself don't know what their values are, and try to figure out what other value to make it profitable. But is profit, the real value? Strongly held values allow individuals to provide intrinsic value, not because it is their main goal, but as a result of their actions.

~AGORA has been designed to be a marketplace, a place for buyers and sellers to meet, and obviously discuss business and learn. It is up to you, wherever territory you find is more appropriate. I'm just glad I found someone else open to discuss these matters.

Maybe the hardest work isn’t building something profitable, but rediscovering what’s worth building in the first place?

Yes I agree, nice way to simplify it. But I believe that is not a discovery in what's worth, is more a responsibility to express what already in the mind, something that one know how it should be. The hard part is to translated it into reality. It obviously takes time...
At this point, I dare to rephrase the title of this post to:

Business Education: Is making money the key to good ideas?
