Breez is supposed to be non-custodial but they take a fee when you receive BTC. How are they able to take this fee unless they have some degree of control over your wallet?

Additionally, it runs a lightning node on your phone. I thought every lightning node needed to be ran on top of a BTC node. If Breez is running the BTC node for you, does this give them some degree of control over your wallet? How many lightning nodes can be ran on top 1 BTC node. Isn't it one-for-one?

So Breez does its best to open channels for you, but if a path can not be found then they complete the transaction for a fee.
And logically your first deposit into the wallet will require a fee since the node you are running has no channels open yet.
And all of this happens in a non-custodial manner?

Breez opens a channel if you don't have enough inbound liquidity. Yes, it's non-custodial.
