Nothing prevents you from receiving encrypted emails.

In 1-2 weeks, after a bunch of users have tested it and we see the stability and missing use cases.

Mostly the simplicity of the account creation and the ease of automation (for creation and usage).

I don't think it's something they enforce. Nevertheless they could anytime, and meanwhile you might be happier by following the “Value4Value” principle.

Your connection to the server is E2E encrypted. The email contents are not encrypted by default, that's how the email protocol works... You can see some more details and countermeasures here: #983517

I'm not a fed and not looking to attract their attention. The server does not even keep a record of the IP addresses of the requests. It's also in my best interest to keep as little data as possible.

You can't. Same as with any other email provider.

“Not your keys not your coins” also apply to email. So think about it as a custodial email account. Whenever you use en email provider, you trade privacy for comfort and anonymity (in this case).

It's a bit better since if you only use it for 2FA, you will know the password, and your anonymous email will only know the one time code. So an evil administrator wouldn't be able to steal your account.

For receiving private emails, the same as with other providers apply, encrypt your emails E2E with GPG or similar. Otherwise the sender's provider and your provider will have access to the contents. This applies even if you self host your own mail server.

The server is technically ready for sending emails, and a small sats payment per email would indeed deter spam.

It would shift LNemail from a disposable inbox to a more full-featured email service though, which wasn't the original focus.
