By no means I want to defend the British digital ID, I'm just curious how it differs from the usual 'analog' IDs and whether the amount of data the state already has about its citizens would somehow increase because of this. Or what exactly the controversy is about. The govt already has more data about its citizens than it should (which is close to zero).
I like it too. I discovered the band and the song not long ago while visiting Hungary. I googled it a bit more and found out that other versions existed. This isn't so unusual for countries from the former Soviet bloc.
The song GyöngyhajĂș lĂĄny written by Hungarian rock band Omega in 1969 has multiple âlanguageâ versions.
- Hungarian GyöngyhajĂș lĂĄny by Omega
- English Pearls in Her Hair by Omega
- German Perlen im Haar still by Omega
- Polish Dziewczyna o perĆowych wĆosach by Kult
- Czech DĂvka s perlami ve vlasech by AleĆĄ Brichta
- Serbian Devojka biserne kose by Griva
- Lithuanian MeilÄs nÄra by KeistuoliĆł Teatras
And, as a bonus, Kenya West used (without permission, so stole) the original song in his New Slaves song
I guess, the traders requesting 50x leverage are the same ones who successfully shorted Trump's new tariffs announcements on Friday, or?
On This Day in 1848, Karl Weierstrass became a mathematics teacher at the Catholic Gymnasium in Braunsberg, Germany, his third such position. That year he taught mathematics for 19 hours per week, took over the geography class after Easter, and received a special note of thanks for helping out in the gym! (@MacTutor)
A great mind like Weierstrass was a high school teacher. Schools at that time must have been damn demanding!
I think pretty much everywhere in America is reasonably safe. You just have to avoid small sections of certain cities.
I think that except for Japan and South Korea (that feel incredibly safe) this part applies to pretty much every place in every developed country.
If thatâs the case, the Democrat party should be dissolved and the politicians imprisoned. This is like watching a Soviet coup from a hundred years ago live. Itâs scary to be honest.
Just to clarify: This is happening exclusively in the Democrat-run cities? Are Republican-run cities oases of safety then? And how is it in Boston area (I am traveling there soon)?
There are definitely some Democrat-run cities that are trending in the Argentinian direction
Could you name some?
Gerontocracy đ Something similar holds true for Germany, in many parts of Germany, baby boomers receive shit lots of money, build 'retirement houses', absolutely unwilling to do anything with the social system, even though it is unsustainable. Plus other problems on top of that.
Interesting. This basically explains the reluctance of the French to change their social system. They wonât end well I guess. Thatâs why Bayrou is not PM anymore.
