Phoenix panic-exited the US after the Samourai arrest. We don't have any details about reasons for this. It looks like a knee-jerk reaction but they might have their own reasons.
Samourai wasn't just a wallet - their coinjoin service allowed mixing of UTXOs to improve privacy and the owners almost bragged, in tweets, about how criminals could be using their services. Still what was done to them is an infringement on freedom of speech rights, regardless of how unwise they were.
Point is. There is no outright ban. But we did see WoS leave last year too, so it's definitely getting harder to use freedom money and not be controlled and tracked in our every move. As expected though.
We will persevere and find new ways!
Assuming “ossification” to mean a complete stop on changes to the protocol ever. If not, then you ought define it for the poll
If that video is real and showing some entity flying above the ocean surface and dipping in without any sign of impact with the water, it definitely seems like higher dimensional object is a possible explanation.
Imagine a 2D plane being an infinitely thin body of water with splotches of mud in some places. You as a 3D person can take a 3D pen and stab it into the 2D water, moving it around quite freely, but as you move it to muddy areas you'll get a lot resistance. So in order to move it laterally with more ease, you can just lift the pen over these muddy spots (vertically, the 3rd dimension in this case) and then back into the water on the other side.
From an entity confined to the 2D plane the will see this weird line moving through the water towards a mud spot and then slowly get smaller (as the pen pulls out and you see the tip finally) before it disappears and then reappears slowly on the other side of the mud spot. That's the 2D/3D analogy to what we could be seeing here in our 3D/4(?)D case.
I love thinking in higher dimensions, and this video looked like a good example of what it might look like. Higher dimensional objects would also explain some UFOs we see changing shapes mid air.
(I'm actually not really a UFO follower nor avid believer, but check out the latest stuff from time to time)
Here's an example video about 4D hypercubes (tesserects)

- the chart doesn't show that your own miner found a block. It just shows that the pool found a block which you contributed hashrate to (ie. your miner had also been trying to solve it) and thus you will get reward distributions.
- If you did indeed solve the block, by sharing the blocks here everyone will know that your stackernews nym owns the destination bitcoin address, so you have reduced your privacy.
As @itsMoro shared below, you can check the solver in the "blocks found" list on the "Pool" stats page. Check if that matches your address. Then don't tell us, or lie.
Although I enjoyed this, I disagree that people won’t be better off even if they only own insignificant amounts. If it’s a world on a Bitcoin Standard, it already is better off than now because Bitcoin is a better money than fiat - Eg. there won’t be inflation due to government counterfeiting. That’s the whole reason we love Bitcoin. So even small amounts will hold their value. Those who hold some from early on will end up with more value, for sure. But in a world using Bitcoin as currency, everyone is better off than now.
Many taxes (like sales tax) are ridiculous. Although, paying for land that receives police protection, road maintenance etc makes sense. Think we should distinguish types of tax too. The government is not what it should be, but it can fulfill a good role if done better.
