If you have your own lightning node, you can host a lnbits instance, it can provide nip05 and a lightning address.
you can't ban bitcoin, the same way china can't stop users to access facebook if they really want to.
Your government can say it's illegal, what prevents you to cross the border?
If you study enough and know how to manage your private keys, Bitcoin is the only asset that you can really own, no one can take it from you, no one can prevent you send it to someone else, or receive from someone else, even if some gov want to have their piece of cake when you sell it, you may take your own decision to do the best for you.
You can acquire bitcoin without kyc on bisq, robosats, and other options, and slowly but surely, more and more shops/coffee/bar accept bitcoin as mean of payment (at least here in EU)
As I mentioned in a previous "What are you working on this week?", I'm still working on a backend that allows to let users to get a nostr nip05 and/or a lightning address on your own domain, in python using fastapi.
It allows to define
- paid plan (admin can freely define how long it'll extend the item validity), it works with lnbits and having a lnbits wallet is required to use that feature.
- free plan (same as paid without the need of invoice/billing handling)
- private plan (invitation key is needed)
- max item per plan and some others interesting limits
Later I will try to make the customers able to manage their items/subscriptions directly through nostr DMs.
I though don't have any experience on frontend as i'm just an experienced backend dev, I'd like to take your advices on where should i start, React? Vue? Angular?, the backend provides REST apis and Websockets is planned also.
When I want to gift someone with sats, I often create them an account on my lnbits instance and tell them to use bluewallet with lndhub so they can access their wallet with a better UX than lnbits, I also give them a github gist where I tell them how/where they can use that, like that, and the fundamentals of bitcoin, and moreover, try to trigger their curiosity about how currencies really work.
If they don't use it after a while (6~12 mo) I take it back.

Love LNbits, and lightning too, I contributed to some projects like OBW wallet and developped some app on the top of LNbits.
LNbits is really good for whoever wants to develop apps on lightning thanks to LNbits APIs, LNbits allows to have kinda abstraction layer between apps/ln backends without the need of being aware of the ln backend implementation
