I agree someone should step up in Rsync place but I think it would be wrong to get every stacker to being more like them.
I actually miss Super on SN more than Rsync cause at this point he doesnāt exist in my online world. š¼
Communities are tuff to manage but you got to let the stackers decide what it wants to be. Also new people will always come in to fill the void eventually. Donāt worry @k00b it will all be fine.
Not at all itās all so terrible when you see it everywhere rn. It will just be another tool to use in conjunction with already tried and tested tools. At best in the future your iRobot will be able to paint the Mona Lisa but it will still be just a sad copy and not the real thing.
The SN posts lately have been much higher signal lately. Keep up the great work everyone. ššš
Just because something is downstream of technology doesnāt mean it receives it last or necessarily first. History suggests it often gets an early, half-baked version instead.
Steve Jobs discussed computers as a new medium of communication.
Historically, each new mediumālike radio, television, or the internetābegan by mimicking its predecessor before developing its unique characteristics.
I actually wrote about this last year on Thriller and tend to think about this a lot. I've come to the conclusion like everyone that its just iterative.
Instead of traditional exams, learnersā progress is tracked through the completion of projects and tasks within their communities. The only standardised test is for parents during enrolment to ensure that the family is aligned with the values and structure of the protocol.
Have you thought about just removing this entirely and making it more about enrolling in factions that specialize in distinct areas.
For example you could have an enrolled student join the engineering faction where they learn all about this sort of stuff. Then optimizing for more individual or teams of builders within those factions. Not sure it needs grading but completion of some sort of peer review sounds interesting enough coupled with the board approving completion. In that scenario you could be optimizing for actual roles in society.
