Most people prefer gold, especially the old; the young depends: some into shitcoin, a few into Bitcoin, and most don't care.
Shops prefer cash.
I noticed that if people connect with others offline or are busy with something, for example, learning, then they tend to spend less time online.
That for sure. We often visit flea markets and look for old things to restore. For example, we are now restoring a Cajon. In addition to this, she is enrolled in an association that fights with Laser Saber and takes a climbing course.
May your daughter isn't that keen on these things? I mean that must be reasons why she more into those videos on IG or TikTok?
I don't have any parenting experience, but how about using something else to distract her away from the phones? for example, teaching her some hand skills to make things?
At least I'm not trying to sell you anything or lie, and I paid to post it.
And why not simply ignore the things that you don't like? there is also a mute option:)
It's not about living in which country but about crafting your own networks with people you can trust, which makes life so much easier.
Are you ignoring it all and just living your life?
this, and making sure these things won't affect me much - I can't imagine these people doing all the silly things, and one needs to constantly worry.
Does facial hair signal masculinity more or less than a bare chin?
yes.
trimming is good, and I like the ottoman mustache. 😂
How to avoid Supermarket/ Chains
-
Getting raw milk from farms, then make your butter, cheese, or yogurt if you have the time and energy ( yogurt is pretty easy )
-
Getting olive and olive oil from Olive farms ( I think olive oil is the most important thing when it comes to cooking, I don't understand how some people can live without it 😂 )
-
Getting meat from butchers, knowing your local butcher is really important, you might getting the best piece every time you go.
-
Fresh veggies and eggs from weekly markets
How's your practice 👀
One of my favorite cafes down the street can't be ordered online; you HAVE to go there IN PERSON ( in fact, most of the cafes here can't be ordered online), even though they have all the packaging ready. 🤯
I guess what they are really selling is the experience of sitting there and having conversations on top of the good coffee ( they even offered us tea for free sometimes ), cozy! And what the chains are really selling is convenience, thus average coffee but one-click order to door.
I also stopped listening to it for a few years: if I need to want to learn about something, a. reading is faster; b. I better learn by doing than listening.
fun fact, I tested with a vps which can be paid in sats and login with nostr, but it's a bit buggy atm.
A secret feature of SN:
helping people to be tech-independent; so far, I've learned how to verify software and build sites other than Bitcoin here. 🤓
np! certbot is good, and it was pretty fun to learn:) The issue was the way the previous dev configured things, so I decided to learn how to build things from scratch to save me from potentially lifelong troubles.
It feels the same: build your own cold wallet or keep buying those fancy hardware; the amount of joy knowing that I got the knowledge to fix the issue or learning things as going is amazing!
Be grateful for people who are willing to teach you skills instead of selling you a lifetime subscription.
The story behind this is thanks to @supratic and @DarthCoin, I learned how to build my sites from scratch and configured all the DNS and SSL on my own as well, and I can't believe how easy it is! like why did I waste all the time and money paying for others to do it? And it turned out they didn't do a great job as well, causing so many problems down the line; you can't imagine the pain of how I need to ask someone to renew the SSL every few months 😮💨 now I can renew it within one min!

omg, so I spun up a new server and attempted to build everything from scratch, as it's good for me to learn how things work from the beginning, and it was so much easier than fixing someone else's problem, and all SSL is fixed, just needed to put the content and design back. 🥁
It took me less than one hour! which made me think why on earth I didn't invest my time to learn it before...😂
