Hi @nemo, they aren't stacking/ investing savings. It's their necessity to switch as everyone else has because their money lost value.
But giving same logic to transition where no one else uses BTC doesn't fit right. I know somebody has to start it, but as most of the spineless people in world, I'm not leader, I'm part of crowd when it comes to money.
I already tried getting some bitcoins, but given its
- volatility
- need of internet
- security and technical issues
I still think it aligns well with riches starting from miners till whales
It is amazingly useful though for people in like Cuba but still adaption is hard, Its again rich and techy in Cuba who transited. Also, ElSalvador tried it, similar fate. I'm not against bitcoin, but portraying it is the one and only best solution w/o debating abt downsides is my greatest issue.
For me, I use open-source file explorer apps from FDroid:
- Amaze file explorer
- FX file explorer
- There is one Simple File Explorer, that is native looking un-googled version of Storage manager
Or just visit any of these links and search for video you want to watch without trackers:

I am with you on certain points, and yes I am still new so I am still exploring this thing, but my only point with my nostr post and even with the current discussion is:
Knowledge and understanding self-sovereignty is not enough to be a Bitcoiner, where you come from is an important criteria too.
Yes, but for someone who have to feed families can't risk their earnings with BTC until they are rich or careless enough to do that. That's why, i specifically mentioned first world countries where people are paid well and your working right, wages etc. are respected.
On the contrary, it is really difficult for someone from 3rd world countries to start with BTC/SATS even when they know it is future, it is sovereign, it is inflation proof. At the end of the day, it is govt. that you fear the most when you are weak.
Yess, I still agree to that for some extent, platforms like SN and NOSTR are just for me to think out loud so that I get multiple viewpoints. So many things got cleared when I posted this on SN about negatives of BTC society: #279844
Some people who have knowledge may not shitpost here, but I learn from being a devils' advocate here. (Some people also call it Socratic method of learning and teaching, where you question everything, and be skeptical of everything until its proven right)
But still I guess we need to be in other shoes to really understand. I can see BTC as advantageous for a society completely torn by economists and gov, specially third-world countries can counter inflation with Bitcoins, even then it is currently still an investment opportunity for vast majority, rather than really being Sovereign as DarthCoin says so.
Yes, I agree, I just wrote that in response to the post. I saved and purchased shitcoins, cuz no one told me about shitcoins are bad and stuff, and ofcourse Bitcoins were too pricy to be purchased, slowly over few months, I stacked some 1000$ that came crashing down, I'm still learning
I also explained this previously on SN post here: #261046

thanks, you are such a kind soul, gave you a little back :)
On an avg around 2000 sats, if lucky, maybe 4000 sats in a week,
around 1900 from SN, maybe a 100 from nostr
Being from a small country and after working even on weekends from morning 9 to evening 5, my salary is more like 130-150 USD per month, which is just enough to survive and live paycheck to paycheck. Don't have family so I can cut some costs, but not enough to put in BTC.
I really wish to find a BTC gig here to work on side, I can do data science, data analysis, basic static web design, some frontend using Bootstrap and some Flask
We should be "rich" by humanity, by culture, by knowledge by empathy, by love. That's what my definition of rich. Everything else come later :)
In words of Edward Snowden,
utterly ridiculous, but true. These days we talk about protecting our details and data online, i.e. privacy.
Hahahh, that's very much true that we use only a small %age of our brain out of everything it is capable of doing, but mainly because we are not exposed to such environments that helps us grow. We call it "BRAIN PLASTICITY" in scientific terms. You will find this very interesting, just google

So, basically I work on cognitive neuroscience which you can think of interaction between psychology and neuroscience. And I have to submit a PhD proposal application for DAAD funding before 20th Oct, and prospective supervisor asked to do last minute changes. I have to rework on whole proposal now by tonight, scraping off 2/3rd of the proposal and adding few new studies related to EEG and brain activity.

That is one of the way to secure our accounts. Just installing Alby and seamlessly switching b/w apps is great but only until it's not breached and used for low risk application like SN. Once, nostr reaches to a point like emails (used to verify your identity), I feel still keeping separate passwords is the way to go. 2FA TOTP is an interesting option as a secondary layer too. I might be totally wrong.
I would totally want 2FA if I had stacked sats like k00b or DarthCoin or yourself :P
Great idea, shamelessly promoting my previous post here, good to add SatoshiHouse to my list: #266707
