I have a good friend who works for Worldcoin. They didn't tell me any interesting insider knowledge, but I found it remarkable how little they know or care about cryptocurrencies (not even Woldcoin). They just like the job they do there and get a pretty good pay check and enough premined Worldcoin for which they would get "a nice car".
I had to explain to them the history and philosophy of bitcoin and how the blockchain works and what the difference between bitcoin and "crypto" is. I think they are now a bit intrigued by bitcoin, but not enough to go down the rabbit hole.
They just care about how much fiat they get for their job. I guess that's a very important difference between people who work for shitcoins, and people that work on improving bitcoin. shitcoin employees do it for fiat, bitcoin developers do it because they are passionate about bitcoin and want to make the world a better place.

That would require all miners to buy a bunch of QCs. Maybe they won't be available that fast to everyone.

Difficulty adjustment happens every 2016 blocks. So if they manage to solve blocks with QC they could snatch all those 2016 blocks before it kicks in. And then difficulty would be so high, that ASICS would never be able to find anything again and the QC would be the only one that finds blocks every 10 minutes.
That would be a hardcore 51% (in this case 100%) attack.
Not a fan of the fingerprint lock. I do a good amount of rock climbing, which is why my fingerprints never work on these things.. Is there a backup password?
Started studying computer science in 2010 and got in contact with bitcoin in 2011 through a friend who was day trading them back then. He used to talk about bitcoin all day and how you can get rich quick with it and how he developed a trading bot to make money yada yada..
I think he didn't really understand bitcoin back then and failed to explain to me what it was about (other then getting rich fast) which is why I didn't pay a lot of attention back then.
I should have done more research on other wallets. I just used Phoenix and just assumed the others worked the same.
I actually didn't say anything about privacy. But trust.
It's all about what do you want to achieve.
Agreed.
Ah okay, I have only used Phoenix so far and just thought Blixt, etc worked the same way. That makes more sense then.
Why do I mostly see Phoenix get recommended as a non-custodial wallet when it's basically a custodial wallet?
You must learn more how to use these private nodes.
Ah well, I run my own node, so I don't really need or use them anyways.
Great wallet! Just got a second one for my girlfriends first sats.
One thing I’d like though is a better and bigger cap for the usb C. It’s so easy to loose the little flimsy thing that comes with it.
I live in my van in Europe. It's not allowed officially but I never had any bigger problems in three years. Police came by once in Greece and told me the locals there don't like me sleeping there and even suggested another spot for me to go to.
If you don't stay in one place for too long and don't bother the locals it's not a problem.
