Sorry can someone ELI5 to me (a dummy) why this is such a big deal? It seems most of the cold storage devices also support shitcoins. It seems like an easy way to expand their business without adding too much complexity, while still encouraging people to get off of centralized exchanges. I guess I have sympathy for these companies in a bear market...
reply
By adding ethereum support, they've widened their attack vector and divided their attention.

Don't do shitcoining. It's a sin. Simple as that.

I'm currently learning about on-chain analysis. I really liked the work made by ErgoBTC when he made the bitcoin tracking case of LFG and FTX, so I'm going to study his techniques and learn more about it.

Might have to make some gaskets at work, or perhaps they'll put me on another assignment today. Yesterday we finished pulling valves out of MY Cary Ali, not the most pleasant yacht to work on, though not the worst I've had to deal with. The yard doesn't have too many yachts on the hard at the moment, so I can only imagine the plumbing department being a little slow this week, one of several reasons I seek other employment.
I've started an ongoing to-do list and hopefully I get to some of that after work.

I guess you work on yachts? I just googled photos of My Cary Ali. Impressive looking beast to someone who knows nothing about yachts.
reply
Yes. I work at a shipyard in South Florida. A subcontractor put Cary Ali under scaffold and shrinkwrap a few months ago so I haven't seen it from the outside in a good while. Your comment made me look it up. I currently only work on large yachts, which, besides looking nice, have more room than recreational boats. The yard just launched MY Silver Shalis. I had a lot of fun working on that yacht. Great crew. Not my favorite shade of blue, though.

Sounds like exciting work, but I'm sure it's drudgery for you as my 9-5 was to me.

I haven't done it long enough to dislike it yet. Actually, I find doing manual labor rather meditative. I listen to music or podcasts and just work away.
reply
Being able to listen to podcasts while working must be great.
reply
I didn't anticipate it at the time, but it's become one of the great boons of manual labor. I have consumed so much information in the last year
