Do you think there would be an interest in an SN market place to be included as a sub forum? Users can sell used tech equipment, miners, node related mini pcs, laptops, assorted peripherals as a sort of mini ebay? Sellers would be charged some sats to post, and of course all transactions would be paid through LN or on chain btc. I'm curious if others think this idea might be worthwhile..
In summary, we want to. First step is probably to dog food it selling SN merch.

Nice... We are taking this same approach!

I was recently reading about DLCs and understood their potential for enabling prediction markets on lightning.
Wouldn't this be a cool feature for a social network like SN to have? πŸ™‚

The problem is that means policing what is sold to make sure nothing illegal is happening, resolving disputes when the buyer doesn't receive the purchase, implementing a reputation system, etc. Of course it all can be done but it's a pretty massive undertaking. Maybe spin off a separate site?

Uff... a lot of code to be written there. It could be much simpler than that...

What your proposing is preposterous and impossible.
It's also a good idea that I think you should see through and expand upon.
Maybe we could just build this site out as a Bitcoin super hub where you can buy and sell, with merchant and buyer reviews.
Multiple news feeds by topic, entertainment, connections, everything!
Do it!

I think Ross Ulbricht might like that idea

As as merchant yep I would support it, meaning post some stuff to sell. Thanks for reminding everybody. Actually I'm planning on posting B2B wholesale lots on Nostr at some point. My peers are not YET really using Nostr, but it's coming.
