Laboratory in Marbella makes it possible with prices starting from 55,000 euros. Ovoclone is the first company in the country to offer the service that is fully legal in Spain.
From dogs and cats to horses and camels, this laboratory can clone any mammal. Owners of horses that participate in competitions are one of the most frequent customers, with requests already coming in from the Arab Emirates and the same is happening with camel owners.

No, even if beings are to a large extent a genetic sequence, they are more than that. It's not rational exactly, but I think this kind of dishonors the original pet by replacing them in a more precise way.
There was a good article in the atlantic that I shared awhile ago: #996347

I agree.
For the owner, they're depriving themselves of novelty and the kind of appreciation they'll get for their deceased pet when contrasted with a new one.

This reminds me of a book called Klara and the Sun. I think I will post a review of it on stacker news

Yeah, I can see your point. You think the same about cloning camels and racehorses?

If I had been super rich, I might have cloned our last dog. She was the best.

No. People trying to ‘cheat’ the system is what gets us into a fiat-fuck-heap. No do overs.
Besides, my dog Ziggy is unique; nature and nurture have created him and while I can go through the first again I won’t put him through the second.
Cherish and live your one life, it’s that which gives it savor.

No. I love immensly my cats but death is part of life. Cloning makes us think that is the same as original but is not. Once a living being is dead, his soul is transfered or is starting a long journey. By recreating his body you are not keeping also his soul. Cloning is dumb.

I don't think it would be the same.
