My problem with Luke is really his over the top suggestions that this whole topic is something that will kill bitcoin. I mean, on its face that is pretty ridiculous to me. When I read some things by him about this "filters" idea early on found that position ridiculous. Its such a basic economics/incentive thing that most of us (I think) realized the spam problem would be fixed by monetary use eventually. Luke has lost credibility with me. But this shouldn't be about Luke, but he's not making it easy to take his side. I do respect things he has done with Ocean and his contributions to bitcoin, but he's really tarnishing that work.
I don't think this is scandalous at all. The only thing I'm getting from it is that someone is preparing for a hypothetical scenario. You can't conclude it's going to happen, and if a hardfork does, it's not a new thing. In the end, whichever one people decide to follow is the one that's going to prosper. I'll admit it might be a bumpy phase for a bit.
In the chat you can see she says "you are considering...". The title says "Plans". Seems fair to call this planning and considering. Also, that's fine IMO that he's doing this. Don't think L0la is out of line here. I'm also not worried about this as you say. Anyone can make a fork. Its not a new thing. Conversations are important including theoretical ones. Its hard to have some in public, but the part about the lawyers is sus.
I really don't have a side in this dumb pissing contest. Its getting very tiresome. I'm sure it is turning some away from being involved in bitcoin as the blocksize wars did.
That's fair. I can see how someone running knots could be unfairly categorized as supporting everything Luke does/says/intends when they merely like having more control over their mempool policy.
I think that's a sign of how out of control this debate has become. I've also seen people who intend to run the latest versions of Core, not necessarily because of mempool policy changes but for security and robustness reasons, get treated like they are pro-spam, pro-csam, pro-non-monetary bitcoin usage.
That's because it's no longer a conversation. It has become a pissing contest. @jb55 just said to someone on nostr "enjoy your shitcoin fork, retard." Come on. I respected this guy for years.
Yep, it has been a pissing contest for a while now. I keep saying this. A lot of these young men just need some years on them. Some though... should know better by now.
yeah I am also guilty of at least thinking like this, but I try to not express it as much, because I know it's wrong to assume
in my mind, Knots/filter supporters (or whatever way I want to mislabel them) are so far away from me and my understanding of how bitcoin works or what it is, that to them and me, it must look like we're just looking at homogenous blobs of people with no nuances
for example, I also don't like what Core is doing in some way, but I don't like what Luke Dashjr is doing so much less, that it might look like I am actually totally agreeing with Core, lol
Right? I'm also not super-happy with developers of seemingly good software engaging like this. I've started to review what software such developers are developing and think twice about using said software. I mean, it's the same brain behind both...
Pues poco se de que vas, si apenas entiendo a que vienes, si ya estás, entonces no hagas bulla porque algunos duermen. ¡Bitconeros lightningüeros, la fiesta es al lado!.
"It only becomes a sanctioned data storage method if it's broadly accepted as such"
"I am not a lawyer, but my understanding is that there are some drafting a public letter covering this"
"However, it is necessarily true"
I guess we'll have to see how the courts define: "broadly" and what exactly is being "sanctioned"
The guy who figured out how to do segwit as a soft fork wants to do a random hard fork.. sure buddy. The press is playing coretards for clicks, beautiful.
When did stackers get so gay , retarded, liberal and fall prey to fake news? This is clearly fake Propeghanda set by the Bitcoin deep state to start the culture war.

the whole article smells like shitGPT generated...
I've created a market for this:
Will Luke Dashjr publicly push a hard fork to “save Bitcoin”? Trade the signal → https://beta.predyx.com/market/luke-dashjr-hardforks-to-save-bitcoin-1758848748
Lol i'm in! While I doubt we get a Bitchrist airdrop, might as well hedge with a No, right
Thanks for supporting Predyx.

You know, Trump is also Putin's puppet. Lots of intelligence agents are sure.

YUP. Since I am so stupid idiot running knots and will also update without checking software at all.
But how will I pay my fiat bills with “knots-coin” when my peers or exchanges decline my txn?
—this is a weak but also clearly malevolent psy op article.
which parts give it away as malevolent?
The suggestion that people who “run knots” (flag disapproval of mempool default policy change) are now also altcoin supporters.
It shows how desperate the core side is.
Luke Dashjr’s actions or character have actually nothing to do with the disagreement of mempool policy change.
The knots client is standing in until we have a new consensus reference implementation.
That's fair. I can see how someone running knots could be unfairly categorized as supporting everything Luke does/says/intends when they merely like having more control over their mempool policy.

Yeah, let the longbeards take over haha
Like I said, there are some that should know better... We live in a time of man-children that have never been punched in the face.

I don't even know who you are. i'm not going to shed any tears for shitcoiners
A guy named @anon doesn't know who I am?
Anon, you seriously don't know @siggy47?
Pues poco se de que vas, si apenas entiendo a que vienes, si ya estás, entonces no hagas bulla porque algunos duermen. ¡Bitconeros lightningüeros, la fiesta es al lado!.
very likely it's a false chat with a false luke
The yellow journalism of this has been bizarrely called out by the perennially odious Udi Wertheimer, of all people -

Fork your mother if you want to fork. I will be glad to double again my BTC stash.
FUD
Sometimes we take wrong decision in life but better late than never try to correct decision later.

lol lmao, even
Remember this for when these same people call anything else a shitcoin. They can absolutely get fucked.
The guy who figured out how to do segwit as a soft fork wants to do a random hard fork.. sure buddy. The press is playing coretards for clicks, beautiful.
also the same guy who wanted to add a blacklist
if this turns out to be true, I will remind you of your comment my friend
@remindme in 1 year
Ah yes, doing
<random thing>
