@k00b @ek have created two PR #2636 #2637 to expand analytics charts on desktop. With all these new metrics, it's really hard to distinguish what is what.

eh it's probably a lateral move. i was able to remove some of the unoptimized stuff that was causing problems, but in unrelated areas I introduced new causes of slowness.
