A product of my insanity maybe! I'll investigate right now and come back with results. Thanks!

The PNG file bug is also interesting, what is happening there?

Can you let me know when it's implemented? Thanks.

Absolutely! I'll ping you when everything is ready to be used here and deployed later today. Sorry for the trouble!

I disabled enhanced copy/paste because since our latest Android bugfix we're now using the rich text version of our new editor, and it was leaking some formatting right inside this editor.

So now we're only allowing plain text copy/paste which doesn't respect spacings:

example:

some

text

if copied from a post it becomes

some
text

Now, I knew that this would cause some problems or missed expectations so I was waiting for some feedback before acting.

Is this what you've been experiencing?

reply

I insert a png image file each week. This week, it included format metadata in the preview window for some reason. Regarding the text, I copy and paste a template with markdown for various sections and categories. They are now completely disorganized and unreadable. Keep in mind I'm doing this on a Ubuntu laptop, not android.

Okay I see, I'll test the upload thing right away!

Can I ask you to give me the markdown template? Use whatever you like, pastebin etc.
If you can't, don't worry, I'll find a way ^^

Here's how the post used to look using the same template:

Maybe it was better to use an external service since I don't know if spaces like this are added by you or us (but I'm pretty sure you didn't add them):

Are you copying this template from another editor, plain text or post?

reply

Straight from a libre office file

Got it, that's the problem! Let me see what copy means to LibreOffice. It probably encapsulates all the hidden things inside of a custom payload and I broke the parsing. Will come back with a fix, thanks for all the details!

Here it is:

p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 115%; background: transparent }a:link { color: #000080; text-decoration: underline }

News

Welcome
to Books & Articles Weekly, and Happy New Year! I can’t recall
a week I have enjoyed more in the territory. There were so many
interesting posts. In fact, I’m making a one time exception and
award zapping my suggestions this week. I found and enjoyed great
content well beyond the top five posts, which were all top notch. I
hope you all got as much out of them as I did.

Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Posts
will be judged using SN zaprank. The cut off time is 9:00am EST
(1300GMT) Saturday morning. I will post the top 5 winners shortly
around 9:00am every Saturday morning.

I
reserve the right to not award any sats for the week. I also reserve
the right to deny sat awards to bare link posts. I recognize that
link posts can be valuable, so I will only only exercise discretion
for low quality links that garner few sats or engagement from
stackers.

Happy
reading!

As
always, please reply with suggestions and opinions on how to make
this territory better.

Siggy’s Suggestions

-Book recommendation - King Leopold's Ghost
by @Signal312

After reading this
post by @Signal312 and @elvismercury’s reply, I immediately ran out
and got myself a copy. I’m about one third of the way through, and
I can’t wait to get back to it this weekend. It is a horrifying
factual account of European colonialism in Africa, but the writing is
so good it reads like a novel. I am ignorant of this time period and
think I am learning a lot. I have included this post in the book
reviews.

Letter to my daughter by @bief57

This
letter is so heartfelt and compelling, it stopped me in my tracks.
I’m going to remember this one for a while.
