Don't look just at the downzaps, look at zaps and boosts too.
Edit: PS: your gql scripts can answer your initial question - just query comments by sats, re-sort by boosts. Then you have a name.

A name as in who's doing it? I don't think the public API exposes the zaps table (who zapped or downzapped who). But I can definitely get posts/comments and sort them by boost / downzap / zap

I almost downzapped #1349267 because I was very annoyed by some very old post showing up at the top again, and it wasn't immediately clear. But then I realized I can just wait a few hours, or someone else is going to "fight" for me.
The position of lit items is temporary. I didn't say anything about zap balances or discovery.

You don't fight for something as retarded as how lit looks. You fight against suppression.So if I downzap very old items that aren't on the frontpage, you will notice and then boost them to fight against suppression?
