Have been learning a bunch from the first version of this order book, thanks @harrym for all your feedback and directions; there's still a lot to do. I built it with the aim to offer a better way to trade Cowboy Credits without eating the full 30% sybil fee haircut. So here's a second iteration, a simple order book where you can post bids and asks yourself for free (no one sat or CC asked) or simply see the current effective market values of 1 CC in sats.
No login needed to browse. All data lives in a public GitHub Gist. Community maintained.

The Problem

Right now if you want to liquidate CCs, you're stuck with:
  • Zapping someone and hoping they send sats back (trust required)
  • Eating 30% sybil fees when using CCs on SN
  • Posting in random threads hoping someone sees your offer
  • No price discovery, no order book, no market
Meanwhile, buyers who want CCs are paying the full 1.3 sats per CC rate when they could get them cheaper from stackers who want out. Territory founders have it slightly better (21% rebate) but there's still no organized marketplace.

What I Built

An order book that shows (if we start using it):
  • Live bids and asks - See who's buying/selling, at what price, how much volume
  • Market depth chart - Visual representation of liquidity at each price level
  • KPIs - Best bid, best ask, mid price, spread
  • Smart inputs - Enter CCs or sats, the other calculates automatically. Enter any 2 of 3 fields (price/volume/total) and the third appears.
  • Contact linking - Usernames link to SN profiles, npubs link to njump.me
Everything's open source. Fork it, audit it, improve it.

How to Use It

Just browsing? Go to the link. That's it. No setup, no account, no wallet connection bs.
Find an order you like? Contact the stacker. Work out the details. Trade via SN zaps/DMs/whatever you want. This order book is just for price discovery. The actual swap is between you and your counterparty, P2P.
The order book shows WHO wants WHAT at WHAT PRICE. That's it. The trade itself is on you. Either:
  1. Comment here with your order (I'll add it manually), or
  2. Use GitHub (get a GH token, paste it in settings, submit your offer directly). This will allow you to also delete offers; click with caution as actions are not reversible.
Format:
BUY/SELL
Price: X sat/CC
Volume: Y CCs
Volume: Z sats
Contact: @yournym or nostr npub
Notes: whatever matters (territory founder status, fees included, link to SN, etc)

Current Market

Seeing bids around 0.70-0.82 sats/CC, asks around 0.85-0.95. As mentioned above, territory founders can offer the best rate due to the 21% rebate for anything zapped in their territories. If you're not a founder, factor the full 30% hit into your pricing. If you are selling CCs, contact a territory founder you trust. Spread is wild wide right now (new market - 0.5) but, from what I learned, it should tighten as liquidity grows.
For the memorandum, here the current trades:
πŸ“— Buy Orders (Bids)πŸ“• Sell Orders (Asks)
@Darthcoin 1 CC : 1 sats @ 1.0000 πŸ”—@thebullishbitcoiner 2 CC : 1 sats @ 0.5000 πŸ”—
@AGORA 2 CC : 1.5 sats @ 0.7500 πŸ”—@nokness 19 CC : 16 sats @ 0.8421 πŸ”—
@Undisciplined 3 CC : 2 sats @ 0.6667 πŸ”—@Darthcoin 1 CC : 1 sats @ 1.0000 πŸ”—
@0xbitcoiner 1 CC : 0.6 sats @ 0.6000 πŸ”—
@SimpleStacker 3 CC : 1.5 sats @ 0.5000 πŸ”—
@ek 100 CC : 1 sats @ 0.0100 πŸ”—

What's Next

Ideas I'm considering:
  • Auto-match when bid meets ask
  • Order history / completed trades log
  • Reputation/rating system
  • Territory-specific order books
  • Optional escrow service for larger trades
What would you want? Fork it and build it, or tell me what to prioritize.

How to Start Trading

Sellers: Post your order here or on the site. Wait for DMs from buyers. Negotiate. Zap them CCs. Get paid. Mark order complete (click Γ—).
Buyers: Browse the book. Find an ask you like. DM the seller. Agree on terms. Send sats. Receive CCs. Done. Territory founders: You have the pricing power here. Your rebate gives you better margins. Use it.

LFG!

But we should make a clarification for newbies:

Cowboy Credits (CC) are not any kind of shitcoins or tokens to be use OUTSIDE of SN !

This exchange is strictly for stackers that are in need of CCs to pay inside SN posts, comments, territories etc or stackers that have more CCs they need and want to swap them for sats. This is not a sale or trading strategy "to get rich", is pure P2P market of a credit used ONLY inside SN.
Consider CCs as World of Warcraft in game gold coins or any other game that use an internal so called "currency". No more no less.
I am offering my CCs for those that want to pay for their territories for example. I do not have loads and loads of CCs, because I am also using them to post a lot, comment and zap good posts. So I keep a balance.
I do not "buy" them because by not attaching any external wallet, the sats that people are zapping me are converted instantly into CCs.
That's why for me 1 CC = 1 sat. Is simple.
AND IS PERFECTLY FINE TO USE CCs.

Yes agree, I should have made it clearer. The most benefit out of this will be for territory founders like me, but also for stackers that want to buy CC in bulk at a better exchange rate.
reply
Slowly stackers will realize that CCs are something useful. They still have to learn.

It seems like you've done a great job, given that you don't have overlapping trades resolved. Couple of nits tho: I always hated when people write the price axis with a slash in there. I can't help reading your CC/Sat as 'CC per sat' when you really mean 'sat per CC'. I know its quite common to write it like that, but its a conversion factor so maybe you could write it as CC-sat, CC.sat, or even something like CC->sat. In the first line of text under the chart, you even refer to these prices as 'sats/CC'!
Also, why are the volumes on the chart up in the millions??

Also, why are the volumes on the chart up in the millions??
Einstein asked me the same question, lol. It is because the mixed types of offers, volume-based and rate-based, are all coming together in the charts. Make it so confusing, I know, still figuring out a way to homogenize the data somehow.
Regarding the CC/SAT, you are totally right. I'll make the chage asap, can't update this post anymore, but is great small detail to keep in mind for the future.

Hmmm I might resurrect a territory. I can use CCs to pay for it? I never knew this. Ek can’t be serious. 100 cc for 1 sat?!?
reply
A question came up here about the CC buy price. For example, I’m factoring in the sybil fee, and from that point of view it doesn’t make sense to buy CCs above 0.7 sats. That’s why I’m buying at 0.6.
But if we don’t factor in the sybil fee β€” since when the seller zaps, we already get the sybil fee discount β€” it can be seen differently.
Example: the seller zaps 1,000 CCs, and I receive 700. With my current bid, I send the seller 600 sats. But this could also be interpreted another way: since I received 700 CCs and I’m paying 0.6 sats per CC, I should be sending 700 Γ— 0.6 = 420 sats.
I think it’s better to clear this up so everyone’s on the same page.

That’s why I’m buying at 0.6.
Are you a CCs "trader" ? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I’m only buying, not selling.

I am not in need to "buy" CCs, but if you really insist or just want to try, I can swap some sats for CCs. Read my comment here #1349291

But you have both a buy and a sell order both listed 1 for 1.

I am not a CC "whale" as many here consider me. Right now I have like 30k CCs in my balance. So is almost nothing. I will repeat over and over this:

STACKER NEWS IS "PAY TO POST".

So I will use all my CCs to make posts, comment and zap, without the need to "buy" more of them. Is a simple mechanics that works fine for me without attaching any external wallet.
unbelievably still very few stackers here really understand this meme
