This is a great article. Not much has been written about this topic. We humans are not sensible to reason, we tend to make important decisions based on feelings. The main difference with women is that they are more in touch with that part of their being.

bit of a tangent here, but I imagine if you want the ladies to pay attention, you need to make it relevant to their lived situations.
one example of this could be an honest discourse on custody of Bitcoin funds during marriage.
In fiat land, you got the law, courts and lawyers to sort all that out if things go sideways and you're staring at divorce proceedings involving tradfi bank accounts and assets that are readably seize-able.
But in Bitcoin land, possession is 10/10ths the law, making asset recovery and fair disposal of said assets potentially impossible, given a malicious partner.
Thus, the answer may be a 2 of 2 multisig arrangement for the bride and groom, where each holds 1 key of the 2 for their collective Bitcoin savings.
In the event of a large purchase with said funds, they both have to agree on it, like any good marriage.
In the event of a parting of ways, they both are incentivized to do so on good terms to recover funds from the multisig wallet in an equitable fashion.
tl/dr ladies should start demanding 2 of 2 multisig bitcoin wallet arrangements along with their diamond rings.

I wouldn't put corn in a 2 of 2 multisig where I only have one of the keys, unless it's something with a timelock like a lightning channel. It would be silly to lose my entire stash just because the other owner died or went crazy.
And I wouldn't entrust my corn to a lawyer, that's not self-custody as it introduces counterparty risk. It can work in the fiat world where a rogue lawyer colluding with a rogue wife could have their funds seized and clawed back from, but lawyers and custodianship don't mix with a strictly rules-based system like Bitcoin.
reply
good critique, though I imagine their are prenup/multisig options that can somewhat mitigate this concern about a colluding lawyer.

It's simple!) she keeps her key but you know the address and you keep yours and she knows the address) and the balances are the same) it works))) In any situation, she decides for herself what to do!) but if you need to solve a family issue, then you just discount to one address to buy Auto!) for example. everything is simple as 3+3

caveat, better to have a 2/3 multisig in case either party loses a key.
give the third key to a lawyer with the prenup.

I'm an alien, so I can't be used as a proxy for other women, but survival and the remote possibility of seeing future prosperity and home ownership is why I'm a bitcoiner. Money go up technology is what got my attention, and freedom go up technology is why I stayed.

My experience talking to Western women is they are completely repelled by the "bro" community-- and a deeper dive only reveals sub-communities of libertarian, anti-mask, covid-denying, climate-denying, conspiracist carnivores. No judgement from me; it's just what's there to see if you step one foot past Lyn Alden or Andreas Antonopoulos.
Western women will likely be drawn in when the grocery bill goes up 50 percent in a year.
Global South women use Bitcoin out of necessity, to preserve against hyperinflation, protect against theft, or remit abroad.
reply
Also, women on average tend to be more risk averse than men.
Given how risky crypto (keep in mind people conflate it with Bitcoin) has become, it's no wonder it attracts this bro-ishness. Then you pepper in the toxic masculinity and misanthropic attitudes of some vocal right libertarians, I'm not surprised more women aren't into Bitcoin.

I'm honestly not sure why this particular cohort of bitcoin is so visible lately. I don't remember there being such a hive-mind when it came to "people that are enthusiastic about and use bitcoin" back in 2015 or so. Somehow the libertarian/carnivore set of people seem to be the ones dominating the discussion on places like Twitter.
reply
To be clear, I do think there is a diversity of thought in Bitcoin, I just don't think it shows up well on Twitter. Plenty of different types on Telegram and in podcasts and such.

I find super weird that sex workers for example are not using bitcoin extensively! Women have a thing against bitcoin I think.

Why is it up to men to reach women? Do they have any impediment?
reply
I think the author refers to the fact that some bitcoiners like to orange pill people.
I let go of that urge a long time ago. Everybody will discover Bitcoin in their own time.

Tell me you're a collectivist who doesn't understand individualism and free will without telling me that. 🤡🤡🤡

My personal experience, women are more open minded about bitcoin than men. At least in my area they undestand faster the purpose of it.

One additional comment --
We don't actually know how many women own Bitcoin. If you care about security, you don't disclose. Women are both more vulnerable to safety/security threats, and possibly less blase about the implications.

it's much simpler!)))) she has her key, he has his.... the addresses are known only to them.) and each of them can look) balances are the same... there are three more balances... but it belongs to the children)) and the fourth, it is the grandchildren))) they will decide themselves)))) stop imposing ... it's beginning to look like aggression... you want to buy a new boat as a family? for 21,000,000 satoshi?? so what's the problem each of you pool 7,000,000 satoshi and buy it))) If you don't pool your money you won't swim, because you don't have enough to buy it)))) It's logical, isn't it?
