You do it by opening a channel. The sats to open the channel are taken from your on chain wallet. Once the channel is opened, the sats will be visible in your lightning wallet, less onchain transaction fees.

currently have 3 active channels. Is there a way of transferring out of the channel to on-chain?

Yes. By closing a channel, but I assume you don't want to do that. What are you looking to do? I was just about to say ask @DarthCoin, then I read the thread!

It's an observation. I can see the level of knowledge of somebody by how they ask questions and about what.
That's why I sent you those guides to read.
If you would read all my guides , your life will be much easier and you will learn a lot.
I wrote all those guides for people like you, starting with LN and nodes, asking basic questions.
Don't be stupid when somebody is offering help.
