retirement is the point at which you have full agency over your time .. that is you can choose precisely it is that you do without regard to generating immediate economic value
for some that's checking out and lying on a beach, for others it's finally doing what they're passionate about, for others it's exploring the world
reply
It’s a shame that people wait for “retirement” to start doing what they are passionate about… and really sad too
reply
good way to look at it
reply
At some point, though I think I’d need to keep myself busy else I’ll go insane
reply
Retirement was a practice adopted until the 20th century, were humans were able to retire only if many decades have been served as government slave, usually defined as citizen. There’s no such a thing nowadays… it’s part of the past, look forward my friend
Personally, never wanted to be supported by a gov, nor I’ll be when I’ll be older. My time is priceless… yours?
reply
no, just switch to my own projects
reply
Probably not in the trad sense. I get more anxious than usual when I'm not experiencing myself change.
At times I've imagined retiring by investing and advising startups, but the market seems super saturated relative to people actually building the stuff.

That's the beauty of being retired. You can do whatever you want, independent of the outcomes.
reply
True but sometimes it’s less about the outcome and more about the value being added.
reply
The value being added is the outcome though...
Money is usually related to how much value you can provide.
reply
So we aren’t disagreeing?
reply
Retiring means find some job I love just because I love to do it and not because I need to do it?
Then yes.

Based on the protectory or society in the nation I reside in, theirs a possibility I'll be working until my death.
reply
keep on stackin however u can
reply
Already did, thanks Satoshi! Currently in the "figuring out what to do with my time and going insane" stage.
reply
Death comes earlier once you retire. Never stop working, just upgrade the work you're doing as financial freedom draws near.

my goal was to retire before i turn 40
i retired when i was 39
reply
I tell my family n friends I plan on retiring here soon they look at me crazy but I tell them I'm still going to be working just doing something I love which is building in bitcoin
reply
that's the dream
reply
Retirement? What's that? lol and then do what? I already like what I do....
reply
If I can afford it, without a doubt.
reply
One day... hopefully...
reply
Retired from one job... and then started 🔟! :))
reply
Among the new 10 jobs are: mining bitcoin with ASICs, staking satoshis, creating a DeFi token, trading forex with a robot, building a huge 3d printer, building greenhouses, etc...

reply
I'd like to work on stuff that interests me until the body & mind give way.
reply
Lol doubt it, unless I die before 40 then I should have enough money to retire
reply
Can't Stop Won't Stop until this planet is free from free range slavery!! And remember Ladies and Gents, Government is Slavery.
reply
graduate from fiat slavery?
reply
I already retired at the age 50 because I wanted. I work now exclusively for building myself my own homesteading place, up into the mountains. I really enjoy it. I don't give a shit about bitcoin price. I didn't retired because of ngu tech. That's bullshit fiat mindset.
reply
It’s actually ngd tech!
reply
You die when you retire...
reply
I'm on my way to doing that.
Retirement to me basically means just working on my own projects instead of having someone else tell me what projects to work on.
Conventionally retirement is seen as you stop working, which I'm not planning to do, ever. Always growing.
Can't wait to retire really.
reply
Retire from where?
I stop working for others 5 years ago, now I'm focused on management my own stuff (SATS included) and I guess I'll be "working" on trying to get more SATS.
reply
no, I am not going to retire from life. You just have to stop slaving for the man and then you won't worry about retiring.

Will you post three more low effort threads today?
or am I thinking of yesterday?
or the day before that?
or the day before that?
or the day before that?
or the day before that?
Some people actually put effort into their posts and you just come on here and kinda spam the place with some bullshit simpleton question to spark some engagement and farm sats.
it's lazy as fuck, spamming the board with quantity instead of quality. Your account is a great example for why posting should become increasingly expensive throughout the week/month. The day long timer clearly is broken enough to allow you to 53 different threads in the past month alone.
maybe consider doing a bit more than asking GPT 3.5 "what should I ask some bitcoiners today?"
like fuck... here let me do all your thinking for you for the next two and a half days or so
1.) What hardware device do you prefer?
2.) Did you DCA today? why or why not?
3.) Would you rather ride a bike or scooter?
4.) What's your favorite orange pill technique?
5.) What's your favorite bitcoin quote?
6.) Do you think Satoshi Nakamoto likes Bitcoin?
7.) What has bitcoin changed about you?
8.) POLL: Do you have bitcoin?
9.) What's your favorite question to ask?
10.) Name your top 5 Sandwiches. Have you bought any of them with Bitcoin?

reply
you did read it, you're just ignoring the fact that you're a lazy spam fuck posting nothing thrwads
reply
maybe the value is in what others have to say, not me!
reply
As someone who might know, getting thicccccc threads like this is way harder than it looks and @birdeye21 is the GOAT.
You have to figure out what other people have to say, aren't saying, and then get them to say it. It requires a unique level of empathy. We struggled to get people talking like this for a long time and birdeye just showed up one day and did it like it was nothing.

missed all these until now, appreciate u both k00b and nemo
i truthfully just wanted a new outlet to spew my bitcoin/life thoughts, twitter wasnt really working for me
stumbled across SN and felt instantly refreshed by the people here
I straight roll thoughts off the dome, sometimes theyre stupider than others and i apologize for that, but i love hearing what the other plebs without influencer presences have to say, it's mostly way higher signal than anything i see from "big" accounts
reply
Lol a bit harsh
