I was born and raised in one of the poorest countries in Africa, where the majority of the population still remains unbanked, and without internet connection. Just like most of the countries, communication is censored by central authorities in favour of large corporations, and not the citizens.
These three names, drew my attention.
- Bitcoin, essential globally, enables anyone to store, send and receive money, anywhere at any time, in a decentralized manner, without relying on any central authority.
- Machankura, vital to Africa, enables the sending and receiving of bitcoins on a feature phone and without internet connection in Africa, using the USSD technology.
- Nostr, important for global communication. It is simple, enables global, decentralized, and censorship-resistant social media.
I think these are some of the available solutions to achieve economic freedom and independence.
